Looking to do an engine swap using a 10:1 compression N/A Jap spec motor. Are they available with standard rocker arms so I can install JWT cams or are they all roller rockers? I hope this is the right spot to post this question. Thanks blokes.

Call it JDM (japanese domestic market) Or you WILL get flamed. 'jap' is considered racist :(
Plenty of JDM motors are non-roller. I believe JWT makes roller cams now, and there has been evidence to show that if you get a jdm engine, the odds are it could be 9.5:1 just as well as 10:1 not more so 9.5:1.
Make sure it is a sr20, not a sr18.. 16.. etc

Sorry bloke. :( Thanks for the warning. So many people around me call these import engines by that name. Bad habit. I started calling them "J-specs", but didn't catch on. I myself only think of it as words being used to describe something (not using it in a derogatory manner) so I will be sure to call them JDMs from now on. Didn't mean to offend anyone.
Any way to be sure i'm getting a 10:1? Compression test? Thanks for your help David and your advice. Best to you.

It happens, life goes on, no harm no foul :)
I am not sure how to tell between 10:1 and 9.5:1 other than the pistons.. try searching the ser mailing list archives at se-r.net or try searching the forums here.

My moms Japanese, and I used to get upset when seeing Jap-whatever on the net. But now, it doesn't bother me because its rarely *ever* used as a slur. It was really only used frequently during WWII, so I can understand younger kids (b.1980+) to not know.
When I was in the first grade in Tennessee, some kids called me a Jap (back in the late 70s in TN, there were hardly *any* Asian people). I went home and told my mom, and she told me to call them "Yankees." Well, she tried.

From what I understand, and Ive believed this and was told this by the list, the surest and easiest way to tell is if it has a tubular steel header instead of a cast manifold (assuming the importer didnt swap manifolds).
Also, the pistons have flat tops instead of dome tops (but when I put my engine in 3 years ago I couldn't see down the valve cover with a flashlight).
If anyone has confirmed that they got a 9.5:1 with a *tubular* steel header, please post.

Thanks for the help. I really want to do this swap some time this year (don't waist time with the DET pitch). ;) I got a quote of $650.00 for the 10:1 from this bloke. He has a good rep.

That's the way I see it. I don't let that stuff bother me. One of my best buds and I (he is of a different nationality) use to call eachother all sorts of names. :) It's our way of thumbing off this whole mentality that makes these words belittling in the 1st place. These are different times and we all need to work together to change things. Ok, so I digress... I should be rambling about SR20DEs. Thanks again for the help blokes. I'll let you know when I get the engine.
