Get a GReddy SP, they sound awesome. It's a really good sounding exhaust system.

My Courtesy Exhaust is LOUD*, but definately not whiney or high pitched. The sound from it could best be described as a loud rumble.

* I don't have measurements to prove it. It may just be that I've gotten used to it, but I could swear that the loudness of my exhaust subsided to tolerable levels about 2 weeks after its installation.

HKS or GReddy is the way to go. I love my HKS, it sounds GREAT...not ricey at all.
List price is $525, I paid $419. The Greddy
list at $600, you can buy it for about $465-525 mail order or G/Bs. Either way you go, you "won't" be sorry you did.

well, it sure does seem that you guys dont really know how to read. in my original post i said that i didnt want hks or greddy, as they are horribly loud and ricey sounding, and if this was what you were going to suggest, i didnt want to hear from you, but most of you went ahead and posted those two anyways. thanks a whole lot.

Are we kinda bitchy today? Those are the best two sounding exhaust's i'v herd on se-r's. You got something against them?

Loud??? I have a Greddy SP and a HS header and it is not loud. Actually it is rather quiet in town. It is certainly not "ricey sounding". It has a low deep throaty tone. You're right, you did ask us not to post if we mentioned HKS or Greddy but, you obviously have not heard a Greddy SP because if you had, I don't think you would have thought they sounded "ricey".

Good luck in your search.

What car do you have ?? a B-13s or B-14. The 95-up exhausts are louder then 91-94 se-rs.

Someone is trying to get a group buy together on the Stromung exhaust. To try and answer your question, sound is very subjective. What I love you might hate. Hence your remarks about the Greddy/HKS. I have not heard the Strumung but it has a nice looking perforated core with NO resonator after the cat (from the pictures I have seen). You may want to consider that your needs will only be met with a custom exhaust. I also want a quiet, but nice sound when I have my foot into it. I am considering a custom with a larger resonator. I/you could add a resonator onto a Stromung if I wanted to quiet it down after I hear what it sounds like with my engine and header combo.

how about a dynomax ultraflow muffler with some custom piping? you can put whatever tip (or even no tip) on it. i have a 2.5" borla tip on it - not ricey, almost stock looking in fact. and from what i've read, since the muffler is a 2.25" straight thru, this is pretty much the optimum set up. it all comes down to personal preference, and this was my preference b/c it was cheap(er).

Dude, this is the second post I saw you post to and you are acting like a dick. Calm down.

Agreed they mentioned Greddy and HKS but there are not a lot of "Exhaust Systems" for a B13.

As far as systems go I know of like 4.

HKS, Greddy, Stomung and Courtesy. Oh yeah then there is the Pacesetter. Any exhaust you swap out is going to be louder than stock (I don't know if if will sound ricey). If you don't want ricey them stay away from cheap mufflers.

(muffler)
Dynomax Ultraflow muffler is quiet with the right sized tip.

(complete)
HKS is quiet but no the HP King as proven by Mike Kojima when cams are installed.

(complete)
Greddy is deep toned and sounds sweet at WOT.

(muffler)
Magnaflow, I have heard nothing but good things about it.

(complete)
Stromung, nice but with age rots and gets louder but nice when new.

(rear section only)
Borla. No longer available unless you buy one used.

(complete)
Pacesetter- Ask someone who owns one. I am not answering that one. Yuuch!

I have experience with all these mufflers/systems. So I am not shooting the breeze to hear myself talk.

(complete)
Courtesy Nissan System, i have heard they are loud as fuck but makes power.

Dude, I wanna know how you came to this conclusion. I think it is a matter of money and you are not really ready for an exhaust of quality and R&D. Thats just my opinion. If you are in a rush to get an exhaust and nothing is wrong with yours I suggest you wait and get the HKS or Greddy when you are ready. It is not horrible at all. They have to keep with Japan and California exhaust levels so they must be quiet.

You want to keep it not ricey sounding? Don't buy cheap generic mufflers or go bigger than 2 3/8. A lot of ricey sounding exhaust are a result of el cheapo buying that generic sugar honey iced tea out of the local parts chain or corner store.

Hike up your skirt before you post here again- does your mom know you're using the computer? If you want to ask us advice don't be an asshole about it.
