I've got a '96 200sx se-r...just got my tax return so I'm going to get a cai some time this week..was wondering if the injen intake, Sentra SER 2.0L (Pol Only) 1995-96 would fit fine in my car without any sort of modification...I know in most cases everything should fit the same, but the intake listed below it (for the ga16) has both sentra/200sx listed.. Sentra/200SX 1.6L (Pol Only) 1995-96 while the first one has only sentra listed..
Also...any preference on injen/place racing/aem?
Thanks in advance

First my hats off to you sir. The Injen unit being chrome is the sharpest CAI on the market.

Okay so you are asking if a GA16DE off a lowport will fit your SR20 lowport? If so then...
I had a PR CAI for a lowport 2.0 that I had installed on my 93 XE GA16DE lowport & it fit perfect. I don't think you will have any problems as long as its all lowports.

I have heard from other members here that AEM is the only company that has tuned their's to resonate. PR use cheap ass hoses for their joining boots. They are blackish gray and look bad.
PR has better MAF adapter plates then HS does.

Hotshot has nice bright red silicone boots with the HS logo on them.

Hope this is of some help.

Actually I was just using the ga16 cai as an example as it had both sentra/200sx listed, while the first one I have in italics only has sentra listed...not sure if its just an oversight on their part, or if it for some reason won't fit on my 200...and correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't my 96 sr20 a highport?

As for your other answers...thanks, I appreciate it

I think all Nissans after 94 have lowports but I could be mistaken. On a Classic in 94 they went to lowports. Here is an easy check. Does your throttle body sit high, about level or above with the valve cover or does it sit below the top of the VC.

If its level or above then you have the lowport

If its below then you have the highport.

Sounds backwards don't it? But its true.

"POL" only? hmmmm...no clue on that one Sub hopefully the Customer Service at Injen can tell you. Post the answer now you got me wondering. :D

Have a cool weekend man.

Not anymore.
The old units were chrome but they no longer offer that anymore. Their current models are ceramic coated just like their headers. A nice silver finish, its more like chrome than PR's silver unit though.

When I got my CAI from HS recently Marhta told me if I really wanted a chrome one she could get it for me but she could not say when I would have it. 2 months, 3 months, 6? That is why they dropped chrome pipes from their general lineup. The plating company was having problems delivering on time.

Again, does anybody know first-hand if the injen cai with only Sentra SER 2.0L (Pol Only) 1995-96 listed will fit my '96 lowport sr20?

The reason I ask is because the 200sx se-r isn't specifically listed, whereas the 200sx se is.

well...i think i can solve your dilema about the injen. it isnt a real cold air intake but more of a short ram intake. if you scroll down * will see where it says extensions? that's the cold air extension. so go with the hotshot, place racing or aem. i would go with the place racing or aem. hope this helps.
