: Installed my UR pulleys tonight

Hey Gang got them (2 pulley set) on tonight. Got some good things to say and some bad. I'll start with the bad first becuse I like to leave on the good foot.

The Bad:

Water pump pulley, the center hole was not drilled large enough to fit on the shaft. I had to use a dremel very carefully to enlarge it. This was a nail bitting experience because I had to make sure it stayed in a perfect circle shape. If I had let it get out of round...well lets try say it would be bad "Ummm kaay". For the money you have to pay for these things that shoudl not have been a problem. They should have been made to OE specs.

Wished there was more room to get to the power steering brackets and the WP pulley.

Tried the two screw driver trick to get the crank pulley off. Didn't work had to go down and buy a 4" pulley puller.

Shitty Haynes manuel is about worthless. Anybody wanna sell me a FSm for a 91 classic?

The Good:

Good looking parts.
Way lighter than stock crank pulley. I mean waaaay!
Was able to check my inner passenger cv boot. All good!
Thanks to Brian at Courtesy Nissan I had the perfect Gates belts and a new crank seal. Didn;t need the seal but I used it anyway. Thanks Brian!!!
Original belts were frayed now they are spanking new.
I can feel the car likes to rev easier esp above 5K! Love the pull!! I can really notice a difference.

The following happened at 9:47pm on a very light traffic 4 lane freeway.

Late 80 something Camaro RS wannted to try and race me on the freeway on my way home from the shop. I was just riding along minding my own business with the plastic bag on my seat ( so my seats would stay clean) and drinking a coke. Anyway we were side by side doing 65mph. (the speed limit) he must have heard my Greddy because he decides to punch it, he pulls on me 4 car lengths and I'm like WTF? So I downshift to 4th. and start to reel him in quick. I was ahead of him 2 car lengths by the time I hit 5th. Then I pulled on him again another 3 before I got off it a 120mph. I was in the fast lane at this point so I ease off the gas and change lanes to the left/middle one. I slow back down to 70mph and this punk does a punkass ricer flyby. What a loser!!!

So needless to say I love these pulleys without them I would have had to work harder to pass this fool. That HS CAI I got now too helped. Temps were in the 60's tonight.

Street Racing is dumb but I could not resist posting this.

Sorry for the long post.

Yeah Sub has got it. Unorthodox Racing is the brand. Expect to shell out around $200.00 for the 2-set. Yes it did improve throttle response. I'm very happy with them. I see you are a newbie so you may or may not know about this. Pop your hood and check your throttle cable and see if there is a lot of slack. If it is, there are two nuts that mount the cable to a support bracket. (Its near your throttle rotor) Loosen them and pull the cable until it is tight, being careful not to move the throttle rotor, then tighten it down. I good and tight throttle cable will improve your throttle response and it don't cost you nothing. Just be sure not to tighten the cable so much that your throttle rotor moves, if it does you will increase your idle speed.

Good luck and welcome to the club man.

Congrats on the upgrade Ralph. I love my pullies!!:D I also ran into the water pump pully problem. What I did was I got a slightly larger drill bit and I made the whole a tiny bit bigger. I have heard that many people used a heat gun to make it work. I also agree with you. For the price we pay for these things they should be damn near perfect. I still got love for them though!!:o

Once again congrats!!!!!:D :D

Pullies get my bang for the buck award :) I had the same problem with the WP pulley. Dremels are good.

You should be much closer to the 14s now.....
