get a good tuner and it will work well. i got 8 hp dont remember torque from just the afc but depends on your mods. and yes the 8 was to the wheels on a dyno. dynopack as a matter of fact.

hey i dont mean to budge in on the thread, but i just have a quick question. im setting up a t25 basic turbo setup on my b13 with 370's and the stock se-r MAF, i am going to be running a calum ecu that will be setup for this. will it be ok to run just the ecu until i have the money for a safc or will i need to get an safc and fine tune it before i will be able drive it???

if you are going to get the calum ECU then i would recommend you buy 1. a consult cable $150 , 2. a moates burn 1 burner $175,and 3. two eprom chips $5 .....and like captain planet would say "the power is yours" to tune ,fine-tune and re-tune. with this set-up the only need you will have for the safc is for the gauges that is displays.

thanx

ok i know absolutely nothign about tuning so do you think that the safc would be easier to learn with???

^^^...well, yes, in a way.

It will also make it easier (faster) to blow your rods through some of Nissan's pretty cast aluminum artwork, if you get too carried away too quickly.

ok it seems like no one knows that the stock ECU and the safc 2 can make up to 250 whp, which maxs out the maf. For 1 year now, i have been running a t25 stock 3700cc injectors, stock ecu and maf and had no problems. If u are looking for more than 250whp get a JWT ECU and Corba MAF. Just use your stock ecu and maf, safc2 and get a good tuner, and call it a day

actually you could get the safc with I/H/E, g20 ecu. like the previous comment said just fine tune it on the dyno and youll get good gains. i myself have alot of mods done except for ecu tuning. god i feel so incomplete. im wondering though if you can fine tune the safc with a fuel pressure regulator?

the safc job description is to increase or decrease the voltage of the return signal from the MAF to the ECU, to trick the ECU so to speak ,that is why it is called a piggy back.
Now with the setup that i had mention earlier (Chipped ecu and a chip burner ,consult cable and a couple of eprom chips you can rewrite and tweak almost every vital peice of info needed to operate the vehicle properly..and increasing and/or decreasing the maf volage signal is one of them ,hence the safc isn't really important.
now onto the ques.of tuning the car your self the answer is yes it is also easier than you think and if you get the daughter boards installed by calum he will be more than happy to help.
