Just change the port numbers around. It should work either on 4 or 5.

rather than guessing, open up device manager and see what port its set up to use (assuming its usb) else its almost certainly com1

ic. I'm running that program on my laptop as well but I go through the unit's built in RS232.

PS: if you have NissDataScan 1.5, just change the port numbers around. Are you using a serial to USB adaptor?

I have tried switching the port numbers around. I am using a serial to usb adaptor, and I have installed the driver for it.
