: Factory Service Manual
DTyne 05-06-2002, 02:17 PM I know there have been other posts on a FSM, but I've read through them all, and still have had no luck. I have a 91 classic and I want to get a FSM. I've looked at courtesy, on ebay, i tried searching the internet for it. I haven't called my local dealership yet, but I can just imagine the price they're gonna give me. Can anyone tell me where I can get one for a 91? I need to get one soon because I want one before I do my clutch job. Need help!
Thanks
Chris93SER 05-06-2002, 02:27 PM If you don't want to spend an arm and a leg at your local dealer for a FSM, then you could just pick up a Haynes manual at your local autoparts store. However, If there are other places to get a FSM for cheaper then at the dealer, I'm sure someone on this board will reply to this thread and let you know.

Toolapcfan 05-06-2002, 02:41 PM If you want a Haynes I'll give you mine, you just pay the shipping. I'm ready to burn mine, in fact that is exactly what I'm going to do to it once I get an FSM. It's a POS and isn't correct. I had a FSM on order at the dealership and ended up not getting it because I wasn't sure if I was going to keep my car or not. I think it was $60. I would look for a Chilton's Total Car Care book (the bigger ones with the teal covers) before I'd get a shitty Haynes. Haynes is the cheapest and you get what you pay for. For the most part it has worked for me, but it is lacking a lot of things. Not to mention it has the wrong firing order listed (see my post inquiring about firing order). Both Chilton's and Haynes suck but Haynes seems to suck worse. Spend the money and get an FSM if you're going to have your car for very long. That's my take on it.
Chris93SER 05-06-2002, 02:48 PM I have both a FSM and a Haynes. I trust the FSM more, personally.

DTyne 05-06-2002, 03:33 PM actually I have a Hayne's manual, but I want a more in depth book about my car. I just want to buy one for under $100. I plan on having my car for awhile and racing it and putting alot of mods on it, so I figured it would be well worth the investment
Chris93SER 05-06-2002, 03:36 PM I agree. I'm glad I have a FSM to refer to when need be. I would call your local dealer and get a price quote on one. I'm pretty sure they are less then 100 bucks. I could be wrong though.

se-r pastor 05-06-2002, 03:49 PM I went to the local dealer and he wanted $100 for an FSM. I need one too, but I can't pay that after dropping $800+ for a '95 tranny and a new clutch.
jomama 05-06-2002, 05:15 PM dtyne,
try this company:
Dyment Distributors
800-247-5321
my buddy and i got our se-r FSM from there for ~ $70 i believe. not positive, but definitely cheaper than what they charge at the dealership. we have 94 se-r's so i'm not sure if the fsm are year specific, and i can't guarantee you that they'll have the '91's FSM. good luck!
SERacer 05-06-2002, 11:00 PM While we are on the topic, is there any significant differences between the 95 and 96 FSMs? I have a 96 SE-R and I bought a good conditioned 95 FSM from ebay ~$50. Thanks.

Sounds like the company I bought it from. I went searching for any info on SE-R.net where I think I originally found the info but had no luck. If that is the company, they do have FSMs for the '91s.
Now I have the Nissan FSM, the Chilton, and the Haynes. Good for cross referencing and finding pictures to help locate stuff.
DTyne 05-08-2002, 09:32 AM Get this. I called Dyment Distributors like jomama suggested, (that sounds pretty funny) and they do have FSM's for the 91, but I have to buy the wiring diagram with it and that is an extra $40+. So my grand total, to buy the FSM and the wiring diagram, would come out to be $115-$120. I'm not saying this isn't a good deal for both, but all I want is the FSM. I still haven't tried the local dealership, but I'm using that as last resort. Let me know if anyone of you know where I can find one on the internet. Thanks
garys 05-08-2002, 09:56 AM I believe that, for some reason, FSM's are less expensive in Canada. I emailed a fellow on our Northwest board, (Son of Skyline...he is also on this board) to price a '94 FSM out of Vancouver. If I recall correctly, the price came to about $50.00 US. That was without shipping costs. Perhaps you could PM Son of Skyline, or do a search or post for other Canadian board members, to see if they would help you out. The manuals are the same for Canadian and US cars, both falling under the heading of North American B13.
Good luck, Gary
jomama 05-08-2002, 10:47 AM dtyne,
sorry to hear about the predicament. it must be something new b/c i was never asked/forced into buying the wiring diagram.
all the fsm owners should get together sometime and draw straws and whoever loses scans the ENTIRE fsm into .pdf format and emails it to whoever needs it! =) highly illegal operation!
DTyne 05-08-2002, 12:51 PM that would be so nice. after having it in pdf, if you wanted an actual copy, you could just go to kinko's and have it printed out all nice. It still might cost you a little bit, but it'd be worth it. I'll have to check into getting my fsm from canada. thanks guys
Toolapcfan 05-08-2002, 03:28 PM You could check with Courtesy Nissan, they might have them for a good price.
