hey, somebody that has experience with them or knowledge of them, could you please give me an estimate of how much each stage costs and more importantly approximately how much hp can expect to be gained from each stage.

Thnx,
devo

Ditto. What's the price of each stage and what is all included? My purpose would be for an all-motor application. If anyone would have this info it would be greatly appreciated. I am starting to research my all-motor bracket racer. Vroom vroom.

I think they're not available anymore. I seem to remember Dan Paramore going out of business or something...

I believe Andreas will do custom headwork. Give him a call.

He is still in business. How do I know? He built my custom high compression motor for me late last year and is now doing an intake manifold for me.

He did have a major business problem a year or two ago, bad partner or something along those lines, but it was all straightened out a while ago. His contact information is on his web page www.dpr-racing.com.

Dan is a great guy. Very knowledgable and will go the full distance for you.

I can't comment on all of his Stages but I got the Stage 5 done and it was in the neighborhood of $1200. This was with a whole engine buildup so this price may not be reflective of what others would pay.

Oops. I must've been high. The past five years or so of the mailing list are all jumbled up in the least efficient archive called my brain.;)

I haven't installed the motor yet. I'm waiting for the JWT high compression program. Hopefully by the beginning of June. I'll keep everyone posted with updates.

My Stage VI head ran $1,500 plus an additional $500 for options.

I wouldn't be inclined to use DPR again though.

I don't think I want to go there in a public forum.

Port/polish, vavle job, reshape combustion chambers, port/polish intake manifold, heavy duty valve springs, coat the valve stems with an anti-friction coating, hone the valve guides, cc the combustion chambers, mill the head flat.

Bob Legere or JWT. I think Legere was mentioned recently in SCC with regards to a built GA16. He's also done work with the SR20.

From a performance standpoint you're not getting much for your money. I bought an SE-R with the DPR stage VI head with 11:1 compression and all the bolt ons and it only puts down 150hp/138ft-lb. The numbers should be closer to 160hp.

I think part of the problem is the configuration the previous owner spec'd. He used 10.5:1 pistons, so to compensate DPR ended up making the combustion chambers even smaller (39cc vs. 42cc in the "Kojima" motor?).

If you crave NA power then for the amount of money you'd spend on a DPR head you'd be better off getting a VE.

I've talked to Dan before and he's a real nice guy and knows his stuff and will help you decide the best head for your wants or needs, I would trust him with my head as well.
