What would cause a rough idle for about 2min. after startup? The cap, rotor, plugs and wirse have all been replaced. Maybe the 02 sensor? The EGR valve? Can you clean that EGR valve effectively? Or should I just buy a new one? What about the o2 sensor? It's odd----only happens for the first 2min after startup.

just disable the EGR, it made my car run a WHOLE lot better off idle..... just pull the first vaccum hose goin into it and plug it w a golf tee or somethin

What will that do for me when I go for an emission test? Fail? Is there a way to fix it? What does plugging it up do?

well when you take it to get inspected, just hook the EGR back up, as i doubt it would pass without it.... plugging the vacuum line just makes sure that you dont leak any vacuum, as that will make the car run poorly

I belive the problem may be related to something with the IAC valve and air regulator valve..more info can be found at se-r.net - if i find the exact website i can post it up here..

I have this problem, and the cost of replacing them is AUS$550 = US$250.

Quite expensive.

my dealer quoted me around 170 for the parts.

As a matter of fact, you can pass inspection with the egr tube disconnected. I just got my car inspected in april, and my egr has been disconnected for quite a few months, and i passed with flying colors!! Well, except for my license plate lights which were out, but i went back and passed completely. This was also with warm air intake, and exaust that i passed.
