: Whats The Averge Price For A S13 Front Clip
LONEWOLF 05-07-2002, 07:36 AM I been reading some threads about how much guys should pay for a front clip. who imports the engines. who is the middle man. im starting the thread so good hard workers don't pay the "middle man" to get a good price for a front clip. i know i so far that is http://www.venus-auto.com/ phone number (916) 739-6002 i believe there are IMPORTERS and a repectable company. in the may issue in sport compact car they did a swap and bought a front clip from them for $1500 i think we should put the middle man on blast. why pay them are there offering any warranties? some are. i beleive i was told that http://www.heavythrottle.com/ are not importers. but get there motors somewhere else but they do offer a warrantie on install. feel free to check the sites AND ANY OF YOU GUYS KNOW COMPANYS THAT CLAIM THAT THEY ARE IMPORTERS AND NOT AND ARE "MIDDLE MEN" PUT THEM ON BLAST!!!!!!!
JayLew 05-07-2002, 10:16 AM Cool....I should have done this about 6 months ago.

Wow looks like we have a good one here. How about you call venus auto and try and get a 1500 dollar clip. See apperently the demand went up for SR's and they now charge the same as heavy throttle and all the other folk who sell them. So importers or not they are gonna cost the same. So instead of blasting middle men why not just make a list of company's that you have had a good experience with.
LONEWOLF 05-08-2002, 07:56 AM http://www.sr20deforum.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=17455 read jay lew link. and im not saying all middle men are bad if you read my thread it s FOR YOU TO PUT DOWN YOUR THOUGHTS AND EXPERENCE with companys some guys don't offer warranties like heavy throttle. you get what you pay for. but if you going to pay get the most from your dollar. compare companys and how guys deal with the companys. i put down mine why don't you put down where you bought your front clip motor from. this thread is a list to help guys to buy motors to do the swap themselves and for guys who want just want to pay to get the work done. some don't know where to buy front clips from. you have guys like jay lew go to a place order the motor pay shipping charges to later find out it was only 30 minutes from his home and he overpayed. this link is to help not to hurt. i want a list of who is a importer and who is a resller it may not matter to you it matters to me. i prefer to pay the guy that go's thru the crap to get them out of japan. than a guy who just make a phone call. when i could have done myself. they may charge the same now but, there is pro and cons to anybody selling you a motor. i make the choice who gets my money and for what reasons. i doubt that every company is chargeing the same for front clips motors. this link is to help guys get motors front clips for a good price. just put down the company and how much you payed. and tell me your experience that is all i want. i don't care if they charge the same price. if you can't help on this thread. then don't put nothing on this thread.
TX180SX 05-08-2002, 10:47 AM Well if you read your own thread you will see that all your talking about is middle men and importers. So spare me the attitude. Almost all of the sites that I have been to have a warranty. All good shops in the local area will also uphold the warranties as well. If you find one that doesn't have one I agree they should be made known. Where on this thread have you told your experience? What did that thread you posted show exactly? JayLew didn't give up his source for the motors. He did list venus auto but we all know the pricing is equivalent to the middle men so it still does little good.
WELL HERE IS MY EXPERIENCE OK!
I bought my first motor from Soshin Trade Co. Would not recommend going with them EVER. Motor was bad had cut harness, missing mafs and wrong ecu. Took months of haggling to get an ecu and replacement internals. The internals ended up being shit. The price was 1800 shipped.
New motor is from R390 Sports. Karim is a real nice guy. I have ordered several parts from him. If you are in a hurry I would not recommend him as he takes his sweet time. lol but his motors are gold. Price will vary with condition of motor. I got a hook up so I won't list price.
So is this going to be about motors only or should we talk about some good shops online or whatever as well? Your thread so your choice. I know there is another thread with some listings of sites.

LONEWOLF 05-08-2002, 12:09 PM Sorry if i it seemed that i have a attitude but i just don't want this thread to be a flame or negative talk. you can understand where i comeing from right. i have 1 friend that had his swap done at heavy throttle i saw his 240 it looked like it was done at a factory i was told that they are expensive on certain parts. but if you have a connect to a shop you can save yourself some money buy bringing the parts to them and have them install it. they will install it if it is part of the labor charge.
price---high
experience -----good
were----albany new york
comments-------- know their nissan stuff
very helpful
have 30 day warrantie
i beleive they are a apexi power excel shop (not sure)
TX180SX 05-08-2002, 02:28 PM Its all good man. hehe I know exactly where your coming from. Hey but you can't go wrong with Yuri and Jeff. They know their stuff. Actually I haven't seen anything way out of line with their pricing. Sure you can find some better deals but whether it's worth it is up to you. If your around them and are looking for someone to do it for you then yeah go for it. They are not power excel dealer but still offer apexi. :D
Nismo 05-08-2002, 04:24 PM Motorex also sells SR motors as well as RB26's. I don't know of anyone who's purchased one from them but I do know Hiro told me S15 motors ( I don't think he meant clip ) runs around $4000 and the RB26's run at $5800. I didn't ask him about an S13 front clip though. Its possible that they have people within the company or in japan that hand pick the motors its hard to say because their a farely big ( or spread out ) company that probably has people in Japan.

All I can say is this.
When the guy dropped off my neighbors engine, we talked to him for like 45 minutes. At the end of the conversation, after he had already told us we paid to much, he said:
"By the way, dont tell "john doe (from the company up north)" that we talked, "john doe" told me to just drop off the engine and leave and not talk to you guys about anything".
this comment obove tells me that the company form up north is trying to hide something, like: "hey dont tell them that they can buy engines cheaper, from the same supplier, and in their own state".
Im not trying to cause trouble, and those companies you listed are very respectable. But yould be pissed off too if someone told you got ripped off, and then said next time you need an engine heres my phone #.
TX180SX 05-10-2002, 08:15 PM I can understand your position. Like I said it does the general public no good. Tell me are you willing to hook up motors with no markup? I think I may already know the answer. I realize you stated that your worried about stepping on feet. Why haven't you asked him if you could pass his info on to the public and get him tons of business? What do you have to hide? Or should I say gain. I'm not trying to flame you or anything but just trying to figure out why your telling us you have the ultimate source and then not give us the specifics. :D
