Hey help guys help me out. I just bought a t28 off the sr20det and I would like to know if that will bolt right up to my BB stock manifold. If not which manifold will i have to use and is there an adapter plate that I can use instead of buying a manifold? and where could get that from.
Thanks for the input.
I ask the guys at shops around my area and I get way too much conflicting information.
thanks again for any input

Won't fit, you will have to make something that pushes the turbo away from the block. As far as I know, no one makes this.

Yes, it will bolt right up to the stock manifold. No, that manifold will not bolt onto the engine anymore. That is what everyone says will happen. The turbo will hit the block. A gtir manifold cost about $280.

Will I be able to bolt the T28 turbo onto my stock BB manifold/?>??>?> Yes or no/. Your last post was a bit confusing sorry...
If not i wil have to buy the gti-r manifold and then bolt that manifold on the block then the t28 to the manifold right??thanks again

If you want to use a T25 use a BB manifold. Otherwise a T28 will only work on a GTi-R manifold. The T28 on the BB manifold will not clear the block once that BB manifold is bolted to the head.

It weill bolt up but i will have clearance problems?>>> RIght/. Its there anything i can do to avoid the clearnce problems w/o buying a gti-r manifold?

You could take it to a machine shop and have them weld a spacer that will push the turbo about 1/2 inch or more from the block. Need to trial fit first to be sure on how far to go. I would get the GTIR manifold because it will flow better. www.nismoparts.com under front wheel drive. Look until you find the turbo conversion section.

$252 is expensive? You realize a turbo project will not be cheap?

COnsidering that this kid in the neighborhood was selling his whole turbo set up off his GTI-r for $350, yeah but $252 is not expensive per say but when compared to other prcies on manifold ive gotten it is.

What kid was that? Does he still have it? If he does, I'll buy it off him (if it's in good condition)

the question is has anyone evr tried to bolt up a t28 to a bb motor with the BB manifold and not have any clearnce problems...

I think they are saying this. A t28 will bolt on a BB manifold, so long as it is off the block. If you try to put a t28 on a BB manifold already on the block you will run into clearance issues. I hope i got that right.

I think thats exactly what those guys are saying but the guy yury at heavythrottle said that clearance wont be an issue when bolting up the t28 to the stock manifold... we'll see what happens this weekend?????

What exactly hits on the manifold? Is it the actuator?

They say that the Turbo housing on the exhaust side will hit the block what do you think ?>?>??
