Hey all, I figured since everyone was posting pics of their ghetto piping, I would do the same. I recently installed a GTi-r engine into my 92 SE-R and I used an intercooler from a first gen eclipse I picked up at a junkyard. I also used straight exhaust piping, some electrical conduit piping, some random IC bends from the junkyard, and several couplers from Lowe's. The pics are located at:

Look under >SR20DET... >Installed...
The intercooler is side mounted in front of the driver's side front tire and the inner fender liner has been trimmed for better airflow. Let me know if anyone has any questions.

By the way, I am changing over to a front mount Spearco shortly, so I will probably sell this setup as is. Let me know if you are interested.

Will it work for a bbdet setup, if so I might be interested......By the way, do you go to the autox's at qualcomm. I remember talkin to you a while back. I think it was you your name and car/setup is very familiar to me.

That is sooo cool! I love this ghetto pipe trend! I don't see why it wouldn't work on a BB/DET, but it will take a little bit of (minor) rework. Slightly different TB and compressor locations, but not big.

It would probably take a few minor modifications to get it to fit a bluebird, but not much. I had a pipe fabbed up to bolt to the T28 compressor flange that goes straight up and then I have a 90 degree bend that came off a turbo car in the junkyard. I'm not sure what the T25 outlet looks like, but I thought they were close to the same. The other end would require some modification to mate up to the TB. BTW, yes I do go to the autocrosses at Qualcomm (In San Diego for those not familiar). I still haven't run the SE-R though. I remember talking to you about your bluebird swap. We can always meet up at an autocross sometime and you can look it over and see what you think. It will also be at SR20development next week for the FMIC if you are out that way. Let me know. You can e-mail me at claymclendon@hotmail.com.

Thanks for the compliments. I'm very happy with my SE-R. It turned out just like I wanted. I got the Kosei wheels because I saw them on a white Miata (GRM project Miata) and I loved them. I have since seen several Classics with the B14 wheels. Very Nice...

How much are you looking to get for the side mount set up?

I haven't really thought about it, but I would probably sell the whole setup including the piping and eclipse intercooler for $100 (I paid $75 for the intercooler from a salvage yard). I may have to keep the large 90 degree bend going onto the TB/intake for my front mount. I also am not sure yet whether that would include the pipe that I had fabbed up that attaches to the turbo compressor. I'll let you know more info after I get the FMIC mounted and see what I have left.
