Well, The Bluebird is an Altima, but it is AWD. If you can find a way to bolt the factory Altima tranny to the DET, then I wouldn't see a problem. You may need to make an adapter plate to mate the SR20DET to the KA24DE tranny!

There is a guy in charlotte that is doing this swap... its going to be FWD altima DET. What hes doing is getting a tranny from the SR20DE engine, then sentra axles custom welded onto the altima axle at this axl shop. He has to fabricate custom mounts as well. but other then that it should be a problem seeing how the altima and the BB are essentially the same.

That's ironic...lol. The BB motor is made for an Altima(basically) and it won't bolt into the U.S. version. Yet, it will bolt right into a sentra! lol!

I saw a guy who put a DET on an Altima transmission. Thing is, though, that it was a Silvia block, so God only knows how much other machine work went into this conversion. ;)

Just got done doin a tranny swap on analtima for a local shop and noticed a few interesting things about these cars.......

Three mounts look likt they should lin up (pass side and front and rear)

There is no bulge in the firewall to accomidate an AWD tranny so a conversion to a full AWD bluebird would not be a possibility.

The tranny mount (drivers side) is different than the se-r mount but it could be made to work with a little fab work.

Local guy with an NX just bought a primera tranny from a guy in texas and i was looking at it.... Looks virtually identical to the Altima tranny I took out. The mounts are a little different but the case's are shaped the same and have the same sensor setups on them. I have the old tranny out of the altima available i suppose i could get some measurements off it and see wether it wouls bolt up to an sr20de or not...... anybody interested?

I had to change the tranny cause this used car dealership bought it and it was makin noise. They thought it was the throwout bearing but after i got the tranny out it turned out to be the tranny. Long story short it was run without fluid for a LONG time. Bearings inside were screwed. Didn't lose a drop of fluid anywhere until i actually cracked the case apart after removal.
