: Redline Injector cleaner?

I have just been told this could ruin the injectors on my 93 SE-R, is that true? If so, please explain to me why. Furthermore, outside of taking the things out to send the away, what are my options that work?

Thanks!

It only lists a 91 SR20DE, but can I assume that applies to ALL SR20DE engines?

I've run a bottle of STP Injector Cleaner through my 184,000 mile '94 every 3,000 miles without any problems- runs great.

I believe by "applied" model year they mean that every model year after 1991 is affected. The injectors didn't change after 1991, anyway. Lance - you may not have hurt anything, but you probably haven't been helping it any either. Pintle-less injectors are basically designed to be maintenance free. Of course, I ran a bottle of Techron through my car before I knew any better. Didn't hurt it any. I wouldn't mind the $9 back though :).

Still, results talk- 184K with no problems. I had the emissions checked at 140K in New York and the guy said he'd never seen a cleaner engine.

Of course, that engine (and car) is very well taken care of otherwise, and you know nobody else has monkeyed with it in the past. I'm sure that has a lot more to do with it than the injector cleaner. I would trust nissan if they feel the need to issue a TSB discouraging its use. Then again, both my cars are basket-cases and yours isn't :). But I have previous owners to blame for that :).
