umm sure it could, it would just take a custom set of pipes and not be worth all the trouble for such a small core. the post asked about using the stock i/c not about using the stock i/c plus pipes as a direct bolt on. i've seen gti-r intercoolers used as front mounts and even "v-mounted" on rwd setups. would i recommend it, no.

i was just answering his question, he said will it fit on TOP of the motor, and would it require a lot of modification, the answer is no it wont fit because youll have to make all custom piping.

nope. there are two different types of bluebird i/c "top mount" (u12) and "front mount" (u13). the author did not ask if it would fit "on TOP of the motor" just if it would fit his "RED TOP". you can use the i/c and put it anywhere there is room. on top of the motor, side, in front, parallel, perpendicular, upside down, or inside out  . the point is that anyway you put it it will require modification. so yes it will "fit" and yes it will require modification like i said in my first post. :D
