well i installed the correct cobra MAF today in my gtir but was still getting no reading. i would start the car and it ran perfect for 8 seconds each time and then would die.

as i was troubleshooting the maf the 12v and signal wires touched and now the engine doesnt start at all and the check engine light flashes violently as im cranking the starter. i think i fried my ecu.

one question: when this happens to a JWT ecu can you send it back for the usual 100 dollar fee and get it fixed?

my gtir always at a standstill...should i swap the harness and slap in my gtir ecu?

Ive seen another post where they have been said to fix it. give them a call see what they say first

i sent out the ecu already but it depends how bad the damage is...i think im either swapping the de back in or reprogramming my ecu the calum way

did u change the impedence resistors on your gtir fuel injectors mine is running way to rich i was told the injectors are low impedence and need to change the resistors i have been having this problem for awhile with my gtir motor almost wanna give up if i unplug the maf it idles and runs but way to rich

jwt has the resistors in stock..if not then radio shack

my ecu did the same thing after i replaced a bad maf..same scenario with the wires touching..cost me 100 to fix

thats what i was looking for t bags thank you...but what is your view on just replacing the stock de and using the gtir for the turbo setup in the future?

should i have jwt set my ecu for stock sr20de tune with my cam and header and intake setup with stock maf?

will i be able to run boost under this ecu setup later or should i run NA motor on t28 de turbo tuned till i boost?
