I'm replacing the axles on my '95 200sx (will send them to Raxle).
Got the pass. side off no problem, but I'm having plenty of trouble with the drivers side.
Used a puller to break the axle loose from the hub, but I can't get enough clearence to get the threads of the axle through the hub so I can remove the axle.
The transaxle end pulled out about an inch or so, but now I'm stuck. I've tried turning the steering wheel in both directions, but that didn't do it.
Am I going to have to disconect the tie rod from the hub? Nothing I've read here indicates that, but I've spent hours now & just can't get it out.
Anybody have any suggestions?

put the axle back in teh tranny. have someone pull down on the control arm while your pulling up on the axle. it'll clear.

I unbolt the spindle from the strut, and pivot the spindle on the ball-joint and tie-rod end. That always works for me.

Disconnecting the strut will not change toe, so you really don't need an alignment.

That's exactly the way it was on the passenger side, but not the drivers side.

I thought that would give me some more wiggle room, but it doesn't want to slide back in. Do I risk screwing something up inside the trans. if I force it?

Success! I put the puller back on the wheel & used a socket as a spacer and pushed the axle out. It was still a pain but it worked.
I'm shipping them off to Marty @ Raxles today.
I sure hope the new ones pop in easier!
