HI i finish put my SR20DET BB in my 200 SX SE 95. But the engine dont go more them 3000 rpm after 3000 rpm the engine cut. But the funny thing is that it use to worka couple day ago. I try almost everything I dont think is they ECU. But am sure is something electric but what.

HELP ME PLEASE I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO

Thanks

I had a similar problem... Check you connections on the Mass air flow meter. Sounds like that's the culprit. Also, make sure it's grounded correctly. My .02

OK i will check that thanks

Your ECU is in safe mode because is it not recieving some signal that is considered critical. You'll need to check different connections, but the MAF is a common one that causes this.

I speek with Ben from JWT and he also told me that is the MAF that causing my problem i gone try a other one tonigh

I saw the same problem on a DET install.
It was the MAF. ECU gave the MAF code
but the MAF itself tested okay, then we swapped
another good MAF in and she still wouldn't go past 3000 rpm. WTF?

Turned out the *wire* at the ECU harness end had come apart so the ECU wasn't getting the MAF's signal.

SO i should try to switch the wire that maybe the problem. I try a other MAF and still do not wanna work

Check your wires on the MAF plug itself. Take a voltmeter and check the resistance between the engine ground and the MAF ground wire. It should be about .003 or less. There should be 12 volts constant on one, ground on the next, and then signal going to the ECU on the other. Should read like 1-3 volts or somewhere in that area. Then, check the wires on the ECU. If you need the pin numbers and a wiring diagram of the ECU plug, etc, let me know. Do you have a check engine light on? Check the codes in the ECU and give them to me...I'll decipher them for you. You should be able to track down the problem this way.

also...have you checked your fuses? Not sure what circuit the MAF is on in your model year. Just check them all to make sure. The fact that you say it used to work and all of a sudden it doesn't now makes me think that too..

same thing happened to me awhile back...wouldn't go over 3000....the guy I bought it off had monkeyed the MAF wires, and they finally gave out..a few years back everyone was grounding the MAF and piercing the harness wires to take readings and crap... ....It had been frayed for a while and finally broke so, I rewired the MAF connector very carefully...I should have fixed it when they were frayed, cause it made a major difference in how the car ran after I fixed it........Oh yeah, safe mode fouls out the plugs in a heartbeat.

Cheers,
Charlie :)

I already try with the voltmeter and everithing look find. But today i disconnect the MAF and the car start. and did the same thing. I gone try different wiring connection. Maybe my mechanic mismatch a connection wirring.

Thank you very much everyone for your help

Today i try all kind of connection configuration to the MAF i was able to make the car rev more the 3000 (5000 rpm) but the idle is bad very bad. I try to reground the MAF and still nothing. Am thinking take the car to Nissan. What do you think

What about you try reseating the ECU... I mean like disconnecting it and connecting it again, and make SURE it's plugged in tight and properly.

wait..the car revs to 3000 or 5000? Bad idle too? How many inches of vacuum are you pulling on your guage at idle? The rough idle makes me think big vacuum leak and the obvious thing with the MAF.

Try it already do not work i disconnect they ECU and reconect it and nothing.

There are three wire that is connect to the maf 2 orange and one white. The white one is the ground. So i switch the conenction with the 2 others one when i did so the car rev more the 3000 rpm (5000) with a bad idle. But when i put it in the previous setting the idle is good but the car do not rev more then 3000 rpm

I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO ANYMORE

Am thinking taking the car to my Nissan dealership what do you think. Do the will be able to fix my probleme. Someone told that they could not fix it because they do not have the program for my engine ???

Whats your timing at? I'm assuming you had to swap distributors around - also check the cap for dirt - been there had this happen before.

I know that all my motor mount was modify for my car. So do you think the timming will do that ???How can i check that

hey..
I've got the diagrams for the airflow meter. There seems to be 2 different MAF's for the older cars. Here's both config's. I have the top one.
B |--------- 12volts
C |--------- Ground
D |--------- 0-5volts signal out(to ecu)

the wire is..
A |--------- 12volts
B |--------- ground
C |
D |--------- 0-5volts signal out(to ecu)

there are letters on the MAF itself that you can match these up to. If you have the Cobra MAF.. it's like this

A |--------- 12volts
B |--------- ground
C |--------- ground
D |--------- 0-5volts signal out(to ecu)

hope this helps you figure out the right wiring combo.
