Are there any differences between the BB DET wiring harness and the stock SE-R (1991) wiring harness? Has anyone used the DET wiring harness instead of their factory harness for a SE-R? They look to be very similar, if not exactly the same. I originally planned on using my SE-R harness, but the harness that can with the DET looks brand new. I know that I have change the two sensors by the oil filter, the TPS sensor, and the AC compressor plate, is there anything else that needs to be changed.

Thanks

Craig, are ya nuts! Do you know what kind of job that is??? Just run with your stock harness. I am running my stock harness, yes it is a 95, but I would think with you having a highport prior to the DET, you would have much more success of 95% of the things plugging in than I did. :D

We had to change the bracket for the power steering resevoir on mine, I guess because I got a 97 Aveneir engine though. You may want to swap out the temp senders, we did on mine because we were not sure if they measured the same.

It doesn't look like it would be that hard. Maybe I am way off base and I don't see a cut or something. The wiring harness looks to be fully intact with the Blue connector for the ECU. All the the sensors are plugged up and the wires are ran beautifully. My plan if feasable, was to just pull my old wiring harness out of the firewall, Lower the BB engine in ( harness, sensors, and all ), Take the ECU Plug through the firewall and call it a day. I am missing something, Let me know, I would hate to start this and have overlooked something. I will probably do a heavy comparsion, tomorrow morning. The plan is to drop the motor in Saturday, hopefully it will be running by Sunday.

Sandman. Why go thru all that trouble for nothing? The stock SE-R harness plugs right up. You'll have a couple plugs dangling there that would plug up for emissions parts, but that's it.

Just use your stock harness. Sell your JDM harness on ebay or something.

Several people have done just that, and succeeded. Some people have tried failed. Not sure exactly why, though.

That's the point; YMMV.
