madmoney 05-09-2002, 06:22 PM im planing on turbo charging me de and was wondering if there are clearance issuses between the turbo and the radiator? the fans stick out alot and the exhaust manifold that is on there right now is very close. im planing on using a gti-r manifold with a t28. thanks David SERprise In WV 05-09-2002, 07:59 PM I can tell you that on an SE-R (93), there is maybe 1/8" clearance between the fans and the turbo/manifold. This is with a GTi-R manny and T28. I did not have to trim the fans, but it would have made things easier, IMHO. There just isn't any room in there on an SE-R, and I imagine a NX2K would only be worse. The good news: A few minutes with a Dremel should solve the fan issue. That, or get a set of FAL slim twin fans. :D djisnx2000 05-09-2002, 10:52 PM I had to put the fan on the driver's side of the radiator. The electric motor just wouldn't have fit between the T25 manifold and the radiator. NXturbo 05-10-2002, 01:50 PM I have the GTiR manifold and a T28 on my NX. The only problem with clearance was a little bit of the heatshield on the passengers side fan was in the way, I just dremelled it off. To get that fan in place you do need to bolt it to the radiator first and then drop the whole thing in as one piece. The driver's side fan goes in and out by itself no problem. Greg is right about the FAL fans, I put in a set and you can feel the suction through the radiator and AC condensor, they don't run as long as stock either because they cool so well, something the NXes can really benefit from. Its the passenger side fan that barely won't clear If you only have one fan you'll have no problem at all, if you have two it's still not a big deal, just a little trimming of the heatshield of the fan motor.
