I think the bottleneck in my exhaust was the flange where the muffler bolted on. At the cat, the pipe was 2 1/4". The flange for the muffler to bolt to was 2", and the muffler was 1 5/8" before it went back to 2 1/4". I thought the exhaust was 2 1/2, but its only 2 1/4. I had already bought a section of 2 1/2 pipe and 3 flanges, so I had to use what I had. The exhaust is now deaper, but louder. It doesn't seem to drone as bad anymore, which is a plus in my book. The welds could be better, but a friend did them, and all I paid him was $11, which is all I had in my pocket. I now get a strange vibration around 3000rpm, but I think the exhaust is resting against something it should be. I'll check it out this weekend. The cams can now make the power they should. I'm still working on an adapter that will let me bolt on the OE muffler for long trips.

I am gonna do the same when I find a semi quiet replacement for the loud as hell courtesy muffler. This may sound sacreligous but I was thinking of picking up a stock ITR muffler. Its 2.25 and pretty free flowing with a subtle tip. Whatcha think?

I checked, and hell is not frozen over.
Whatever works though.
