I need to know that too... my motor didnīt come with any temp sensor.. actually the whole water pipe that goes back was missing.

you have to use the jdm temp sensor(2 prong). switch the single prong temp sensor, with the one in your factory motor. that one goes to your temp guage in the guage cluster.
since your useing the gti-r ecu, you will also have to use the jdm skinney 02 sensor. an 87 300zx TURBO also uses that 02.
you can probably get both from gregV (g spec performance)

I got the O2 from Advance Autoparts, 75 bucks tax included. I asked for a 88 300zx Turbo.

The temp sensor for the ECU on all SR20's is a two prong, with a red end connector, the other one for the cluster is the one with only one wire. I need to know if I need the original GTi-R temp sensor for the ECU or if the highport one will work on it.

im sorry but can you clarify exactly what sensor i need to buy? my temp gauge does work.so the sensor for the fane needs to be a 96 + sensor like out of a 200sx ? keep in mind i ahve the gti-r ecu and mass air sensor if that matters. thank you

there are two temp sensors. a double prong that has a red end(ecu) and a single prong (gauge cluster temp gauge). the double prong temp sensor needs to be a gti-r sensor. the single prong sensor sould be the same as the one in your factory motor.
gregv will know which ones you are needing.
