What's with the "you have to contact the old owner on the title" all about?

i bought at a dealer and he didnt sign , i didnt sign. the title is in the xxx owners name, then he sold it to someone and they signed the title. then there are two more spots left on the title for new owners/dealers... he signed it 4-15-06 so its kinda recent and shouldnt be hard to follow up on.

i dont usually sell cars so i dont really know how that works... i have the title and the place i bought it from (dealer) is but 4 blocks from me. he has like 20 cars for sale all the time and iv known the place for over 3-4years. im sure it would take like 4-6weeks to get the title in your name and contact the old owner and get a cop in your state to check the car for your branch to give ya a new title.

sorry, but that sounds like more trouble than it's worth.. g-luck though..

ya im not sure, id guess you just take it to your branch and ask them, i have the cars report and its all clean. And the other gent signed it just a few months ago so its not like its been a year etc. Thanks!
