: RUTHLESS NX2K I need your attention
Pretty White 05-10-2002, 11:30 PM I think the reason your brake pads keep falling out is becasue you have the wrong rotors on the front ofthe car. You are not using SE-R rotors are you? They are not compatable with NX2000 rotors unless you are using smaller calipers. We were talking about this on another car that was at the shop with that exact problem and his rotors were too small for his calipers. Check that and let me know what happens.
RUTH'LESS 200sx 05-11-2002, 12:50 AM My rotors in the front are for a NX 2000. I had a whole front brake job did last year in April for the same exact reason, I don't know man my brake pad on the passenger side just doesn't like me but the rotors are for a NX though. Good look for checking with me on that though.
LONEWOLF 05-14-2002, 08:16 AM check with pretty whites brother. i had the same problem he told me that i had ser rotors. i order my nx2k rotors i hope that will cure the problem make sure that you get the model that belong to your car like abs or not. that make a big difference i may have some cross drill sloted rotor for sale. it only has 1000 miles on them.
DEAD SE-RIOUS 05-14-2002, 12:42 PM yo lone wolf i been hearing about the cross drills * got 4 sale but i never hear a price how much?
cossieturbo 05-14-2002, 08:11 PM The odd thing about the NX2000 brakes is there are 2 setups. The larger brakes are listed for a NX with ABS or the "sport" NX2000 (no ABS)!?!? The smaller ones are listed for an NX2000. I went through this with Nissan and the wrong parts. If you have the NX2000 "sport" (no ABS), then you will be ordering the ABS pads and rotors. It helps to know this when buying aftermarket. I got sick of shipping the wrong X-drilleds & pads back to different companies so I found out what the deal was.
Cossie
LONEWOLF 05-15-2002, 07:00 AM I WENT TO CHANGE MY ROTORS again AND I STILL HAVE THE WRONG ONES!! i don't have abs on the car but the brakes i put on is still small. so should i order the abs rotors? or is it a different rotor all together? i order from nopi they only have two types with abs or without abs. so i should order the abs rotors and non abs pads?

so should i order the abs rotors and pads or not? remeber i have no abs on my car and the nx2k rotors i order are to small.
so this is how it goes?
car brakes
nx2000 w/abs get nx2000 abs rotors and pads
nx2000 no/abs get regular nx2000 rotors and pads
nx2000 "sport" no/abs get nx2000 abs rotors and non abs pads or get abs pads
so actual there are three types of rotors right?
NismoPC 05-15-2002, 09:28 AM All NX2000's in the US came with the same brake pads, rotor, and caliper. There is no difference in parts between the ABS system and the non-ABS system. NO DIFFERENCE.
There is rumors that some NX2000's came with the SE-R parts, but that rumor has yet to be proven!
So, if the dealership can't give you the right parts, then they are not knowledgeable enough about those cars.
It might also help if you state that it was made in Japan. They always asked me if it was a US or Japan model when I owned my '91 NX2000. Dumbasses! They (NX's) are all Japanese made.
My pads popped out once, because the jackasses at the local performance shop gave me the SE-R pads. The crappy thing is, they fit into the calipers as if they are the right ones. They cracked in half on a hard break and tore into my brand new rotors. I had to replace the rotors, pads, and one caliper blew.

If they are too small, then you did not get NX2000 rotors.
so actual there are three types of rotors right? Nope. There is only one.
LONEWOLF 05-15-2002, 09:44 AM what is the correct size rotor for the nx2000 i just mesured the rotor that is wrong. it is a 10" rotor i thought nx2k was 11" rotor and just for knowledge what size is the classic ser rotor? if this crap keep going on then im going to order the hp's. on the nopi website they have abs and non abs whats up with that then. if you say they are all the same?
NismoPC 05-15-2002, 09:53 AM If I get a chance tonight, I'll look at the Nissan FAST CD's and see what Nissan actually states for the NX2000's part #'s. I'll post them when I get a chance.

NX Front Rotor......................257mm x 26mm (approx. 10.12 in x 1.02 in)
SE-R Front Rotor...................250mm x 18mm (approx. 9.84 in x 0.71 in)
Please correct me if this is wrong. Used a online conversion chart!
LONEWOLF, it might be the brake pads are the wrong ones. Make sure they are the larger brake pads for the NX and not the SE-R. That would make the rotor appear to be too small even if you have the correct one. Just a thought!

Yeah thatr happened to me a year ago on a hard break the pad just popped out, i had to do the whole front break job cause my caliper seized up on me. This better never happen again, cause it's gonna wind up costing me mad money. That's twice in a year span.
LONEWOLF 05-15-2002, 12:08 PM I DOUBT that because the caliper looks too big does anybody know how much the hp kit cost. i was thinking about getting it. i already went thru 1 set of rotors. and keep in mind as time past by it will be hard to get performance pads and rotors.
IT JUST MEASURE THE ROTOR AGAIN AND it is defentily under 10'' inches in length and less than a 1" inch in width i have ser rotors dam i just send them back to nopi for a refund thanks for the mesurements you saved my life!!!!!!
do you think the abs rotors are bigger! since you said that they all the same?
Pretty White 05-15-2002, 02:56 PM It might also help if you state that it was made in Japan. They always asked me if it was a US or Japan model when I owned my '91 NX2000. Dumbasses! They (NX's) are all Japanese made.
Yeah, but you can also run into problems here too. Because if you tell them you have a Japaneese made car and they give you Japaneese rear rotors they will be too big.
NYC guys, when you go to my brothers shop call me. I know these cars in and out. If you want pads I can get Axiss at a good price. I do not understand why you guys have these problems.
NismoPC 05-15-2002, 03:35 PM I shoulda mentioned this was only in reference to the front rotors, pads, etc.
Thanks Pretty White.
santo51 05-15-2002, 03:45 PM  where can i get the disks for the nx2k brakes. pepboys wanted to order me 1 cause of sum damage on one of mine. i dont want to pay an arm, and 2 legs 4 it so i thought id ask * guys first.
Pretty White 05-15-2002, 03:58 PM If you have an Arch Autoparts near you then yes you can get them there cheap. Try CherryHill Nissan. If not Courtesy Nissan.
Kelway 05-15-2002, 05:34 PM I got new Brembo Front rotors at expressautoparts.com for $46 each. That is the best deal I have found on quality rotors. I got them in less than a week, and they fit perfect. The best thing about the expressautoparts.com website is that it lists the part dimensions, so you know exactly which rotor you are ordering. for the NX it is the 26mm one. No matter what anyone says or does, just insist on the 26mm rotor, wherever you get them.
I also was given the wrong pads at Autozone once. when I took the old ones off, I compared them, and found that the new ones were smaller. When I get pads, now I always ask for the big one, for built in Japan car.
RUTH'LESS 200sx 05-15-2002, 07:50 PM I was ooking at my rotors today and comparing them to my boy's SE-R who has the NX 2000 brake upgrade and my rotors appear to be kinda small so I am going back to spot who did my brake job and tell them they need to fix the brakes again and use the correct rotors. They got the ADVF22 brake calipers but wrong rotors. Thanks again Pretty White for pointing that out again, and Thanks DEAD SE-RIOUS (SR20DEEP N.Y.C.) for also pointing that out too. Kelly I think I am going to look at getting some Brembo rotors from that spot you mentioned.
Pretty White 05-15-2002, 07:58 PM Note NX guys in NYC.
(516)285-4898. Thats my brother Tony who knows these cars real well. My cousin also does bodywork for SR20 guys who go in and tells him I sent you for a resonable price. He is at the same shop.
