Brent I'm not bothered about the v-band clamp, I just bought one from fleabay today, And I was just curious about the thread in the flange because I didn't know what it was, So couldn't buy the right studs.

The only things I'm unhappy about is the coating which was out of Cody's control and the flange which was with in his control and he could of just had the two different flanges made, And waited until people made their minds up or just made the the manifold with the right flange for the people who did know what they wanted like me ;) .

But it is what it is and I'll have to hope that it works ok, I'm sure it will be fine.

I also understand that it wont be guarantied if I wrap it it, Is that the case ?.

Did you get yours yet? If not, when did you plan on paying it off to get it?

Brent

Oh, OK! Give him about a week's notice of payment so he has it all ready for you right when you send him payment. He has been traveling across the country and to Canada doing turbo installs and will need the notice.

Correct, Cody doesn't warranty the manifolds when you wrap them.

I can't be bothered mate, I'll just live with it as I'm not risking some other useless b@stards losing it for months  .

I'm not into bling anyway, As long as it does the job I want and fits OK that's all I'm interested in ;) .

I also got a lovefab mani for my gti-r,but it is the top mount one....
i can agree with Vpulsar about the ports oin the head flange.
when you pay so much money, you want attention to details, and this solution for the head flange is not good in my opinion.
the shape of the ports is horrible,i had to weld a lot of material on the ports and then re-shape them to the correct size-shape.
i had big trust in cody, choosed him againsts full race and pro -tech...but now i have a question in my mind...should i have choosen pro-tech?
I also had to skim both turbo flange and head flange because they were not plain....details...details...they make the difference!
this is just my experience!

I trial fitted this manifold today, And I'm not very impressed at all :( , 3 of the studs are very very hard to get at and one of them you need to put the nut on as you first put the manifold on the studs, Because the nut wont go on with it tight against the block.

And with the two lower middle studs you just can't get any kind of spanner on the nuts even using the smallest nuts pos  :( :( .

I will have to try grinding one of my 14mm ring spanners down to make the ring as thin as pos, But I'm not holding my breath that it's going to work or not.

To be honest I wish I hadn't bothered at all with this group buy, It's just been one problem after another.

Have you ever had a tubular manifold before? Every manifold out there has those issues brother! WOW! I have had two log manifolds from Protech that you can't get the two lower nuts on man! I just don't understand, you got a full turbo setup for $1500 and expect custom fitment like the car was sitting in his garage and he welded it all up on the car. At this point I wish Cody wouldn't sell to Europe because there is no way for him to fix problems due to the shipping. I am very sure you could sell that setup for more than you have into it if you don't like it.

They make the difference, and I keep telling Cody to plain the flanges.

You guys seem to forget that this setup was a low cost GB product and he sells them to help people get into tubular setups. THe whole kit goes for less than the price of the manifold alone from other companies. You all seem to forget that.

From here on Cody will only be building kits on cars because the GB was obviously a bust. It is funny though, only people upset are the people in Europe.

STR - Do you have a standard DE/DET head? If so, that flange was made by JGS Tool for that head and there have been NO issues with ports. Vpulsar is upset because he got a new flange that Cody had cut to support VE and DE head, but I have to think that the company messed up the port design because it doesn't seem right to me either.

Of cause I've had a tubular manifold before and I sold it because you couldn't get at one of the studs, And bought the lovefab one on the understanding that it would be a lot better made, (my mistake clearly:( ).

That's redicules mate, It doesn't matter how cheap it is if the bloody thing wont fit does it, This manifold should of never been made the way it has if you can't get at the bloody nuts should it, After all what use is it if the nuts can't be done up properly ????.

Maybe you lot are willing to except substandard goods but we have higher standards in Europe, And expect the things we buy to actually fit properly.

Why is it that protech can make a manifold that bolts straight on with out issue ?, And for only a few bucks more.

Like I said I'll try and over come the problems, BUT I shouldn't of had to mate should I ?.

I've solved the issue with the bolts being very hard to get at, BUT!! I did notice another problem today when I spent more time on it, And that is the stud holes in the manifold   , Why the f*ck are they so big  ?.

You can move the thing at least a 1/3 rd of and inch up and down or side to side on the studs, Which makes getting a gas tight fit very hard indeed :( , And both flanges are about as flat as the Rocky's and will need milling to correct :( .

For anybody interested in this set up lol, I just mocked up the manifold/turbo ad waste gate before dropping the manifold off at the machine shop to have the flanges milled flat.

The WG is supposed to point back toward the trans and dump down, the Jpipe will spin toward the manifold and actually "hug" it for more radiator/fan clearance.

They can't, and they don't. THey carge as much for the manifold as Cody charged for the entire turbo kit.

Cody sent me an email and said "Tell anyone that has any issues to go directly to me, Cody@lovefab.com. Obviously I'm not on the forums much and I can't fix any issues that are not brought up to me."

I think it is only fair that if you have issues you call Cody about them and not simply complain about it.

He will do all he can to fix the problem and I believe he will have seperate VE and DE flanges in house and will be cutting runner reliefs and I hope he can start milling flanges down.
