: been lookin for an SE-R
SE-Rseeker39 05-11-2002, 05:22 PM Hey whats up everyone, im new to the forums but have been readin em and the Nissan Forum for a lil while now, i got a 92 Nissan Sentra SE in november, didnt really know much about em, but ever since ive been lookin into stuff and i started really wantin an SE-R, things are really tough to find though around my area, ive seen about 3 in the past month on the internet but all have been either sold quickly or are a long drive to get to, just wondering if it is more worth it u think to work with what i got or to keep trying to get my hands on one
went today to look at one an 40 min away, that washed up, talked to the guy he still has it, but i misunderstood, 87,00 miles on it, wants 2800, slight damage in the rear
i know its a novel, just seekin some input
thanks
SmoothDaddyFig 05-11-2002, 07:54 PM Get the SE-R.
The 1.6 will take too much modding just to get close to the SE-R.
You'll really enjoy it and be happy.

I checked your profile but I didn't see it listed, so what mods do you have in your car to run a 14.7?
PlanoSER 05-11-2002, 09:35 PM 91 cam, maf adapter with cone filter, pace setter header, CN exhaust, 19* timing

And that got you a 14.7? That has to be one of the least modified SE-Rs that can run in the 14s even with the Gen1 Hotshot header rip. I'm amazed.
SmoothDaddyFig 05-11-2002, 10:43 PM 14.7 = Pacesetter Powah!!!!!

Though he was on DRs
SE-Rseeker39 05-11-2002, 11:54 PM haha, thanks guys, i really want to get the SE-R, just a matter of findin one, ive read a lot about the way mods only get up to SE-R base status if that, so i guess i will keep up the search
and haha, ur cars in texas, thats a long way from pa
garys 05-12-2002, 01:16 AM I did a search on cars.com, putting in a zip code for Pittsburgh, and this car came up:
NISSAN '92 SENTRA SE-R, 5 spd, air, sunroof, $2499/best. Call 964-8146
Battle Creek (Mich.) Enquirer
Also, this car in Mass.: http://www.cars.com/search/used/cc/standard/results/single/ld/detail.jhtml?paId=7133596&aff=national&src=&cid=
I would suggest subscribing to se-r.net email notification. Then, every time a new car is listed, you will be notified by email. Also, do regular searches on autotrader.com, and cars.com.
Lastly, don't be afraid to travel to get a good one. You can always have a seller take the car in for a pre-buyer inspection on your dime. You can use the net (nissandriven.com) to locate Nissan dealerships near the seller if you want a Nissan dealership to do the inspection. I believe it is worth $150.00 or so in air fare and a weekend's drive home to get a good one. (Ive traveled over 1000 miles three times to bring home SE-R's :) .
Good luck, Gary S.
SE-Rseeker39 05-12-2002, 01:52 AM Hey thanks, yeah, i really want to find a well taken care of SE-R, but i cant really commit myself to such a far away deal like that, my parents, sadly still young would nnnnnevvver okay me doing something, they were not happy about me driving about an hour to look at one, let alone fly somewhere
but i wont rule it out, and thanks for checkin up on that for me, if u ever see something in the area of SE pa, or anybody does, i may miss it and i would appreciate an email...
