: Which class for EC SE-Rs?

With the improved rules, which class do you want to run? I'm pretty sure Scott's car can squeeze into PTE, and he is willing to make it do that. I can also make it into PTE. What about Eric's car? I assume he could also. Of course, the other options are PTD or just run SE-R Cup again.

can scott's car really run in PTE now? i assumed, the changes would put him in PTD and we would all run that.......if he can eric can squeeze in PTE than we all run that, if they can't PTD it is.........i will figure out what eric's car classses in and post it here

I definately in PTD as I am prepped pretty much to the limit of the SE-R Cup class. I am at 53 points -- I have a few to spare.

If I finish my car as originally planned I would be about 7 points into PTD. That doesn't make a lot of sense.

The cage is actually pushing me up a bit. If I remember Steve, Wade, and Eric's cages, there won't be any points assessed except for possibly a +1 for an incorporated rear STB. I'm +5 on my cage.

Right now I'm at 46 points with my current plans.

Here's where I can reduce my points from 46....

Tires: Run 205's or 215's for -1
Engine: Stock air box for -1 and stock ECU for -5
Aero: No air dam for -4

I also have planned to install a bump steer kit. I have already drilled the uprights for it so I guess that I'm going to have to eat the +2 for that.

We should start a new class. We'll do whatever we want and call it PTFU.

personally, if you want to go ahead and build the car as planned and we all run PTD that is fine, or you could drop the air dam and the ecu and run PTE.......its 100% up to you scott, if you want to build the car with ecu (more torque from the ecu is nice) and air dam, that's fine, i will sign up for PTD everyweekend so we are all in the same class:biggthump

That's cool. You're the man, Steve!:D

We are caught in between right now. I think that there are two issues....

1) Steve, Wade, Scott, and Eric all want to race each other.

2) Contingency money and race standings.

Contingency money for SER cup is going to be gone IMHO. It would be nice for us all to be in PTE where the faster guys would have a better chance to get a few bucks. Plus it doesn't make any sense for us to put ourselves in a faster class for 3 or 4 points worth of mods.

My suggestion is for us to get ourselves into PTE for race standings. Then all of the SER guys can race for bragging rights and beer.

Also, that would truly put Todd Reid into a class by himself :-).

Of course if it turns out that PTD fills up and PTE is vacant, then perhaps we can move there.

Steve, I agree. We should have a guy that has never taken a single lap as an SER driver decide where all of the NASA-MA guys class their cars.

:-)

Just kidding. I truly appreciate the consideration.

My vote is for all of us to sign up in PTE for the Feb event and go from there. My car will slide into PTE with EXACTLY 39 points. Then, just to thumb our noses at "the man" we'll have small stickers on our car that say SRFU in tribute to the now defunct SR Cup. :-).

Then we'll race for beer. Race winner buys the FIRST round at Outback!

Whaddaya think?
