the other day i went to nissan, and bought an oil filter and asked for nx2000, the box did not specify it's for the nx but has all the B14 2.0L, went home compared with puralator filter and it's shorter but everything else looked the same.
i *** went to courtesyparts.com and the B13 and B14 had different part numbers.
are they different and if so, how?

I MADE THE SAME MISTAKE AND PUT IT ON, BUT IT LITERALLY BLEW OFF AND OIL WENT EVERYWHERE. DO NOT PUT THAT ON YOUR CAR, I REPEATDO NOT PUT THAT ON YOUR CAR.

i know i might sound crazy there but you dont want to seriously hurt your engine by doing that and it blowing off and all hell breaking lose. go bitchslap whoever sold you that and tell him you need a B13 SR20DE oil filter. there is a big difference in size between the filters. B13's are alot bigger. hope that helped. i learned the hard way

shit, i shoulda asked a couple days ago!
i used it, i didn't blow the filter out but i did blow something else, dunno if it's in any way related to the filter but the timing of it was very close to my oil change.
i blew something in my exhaust, maybe flexpipe.
loud as hell now

I had the same problem with Autozone trying to sell me a b14 filter. Anyone want to post the various part numbers for the B13 and B14 oil filters? Purolator, Valvoline, Mobil 1, whatever?
