I want to drop a bb det in my 96 200sx. I was just wondering how much it would end up costing me all together with jwt ecu, down pipe, install and front mount intercooler and less then 30k miles. I am hearing between 1500-6000. I want the car to be a daily driver so any where between lik 215-230 horsepower. Can any give me any info or point me in the right direction.
Thanks

Yup; that's about right.
A Bluebird engine with a JWT ECU and a good boost controller should be able to get to 230 at the wheels; figure $1500 for the engine itself, another Grand on the other stuff you need (IC pipes, D/P, ECU), and you're still pretty conservatively priced. Not to mention the fact that you still have a stock exhaust, which will keep you around 210 whp, IIRC. You've also deleted the "manditory recommended" engine work, like replacing the bearings.
I wouldn't embark on this project with any less than $3000 in the bank, and that's just to get it running, not buying cool toys like electronic boost controllers, turbo timers, and fuzzy dice; that's a bare-bones DET conversion with some money left over in case something breaks or doesn't fit like you thought it should..
