: what other engine's do people put in 240sx"s? Sweet motor. Unstable hybrids installed one into an S13. Very custom....not a direct swap by any means. Speaking of Unstable hybrids, their site seems to be down. That would be the CA18DET. TX180SX 05-15-2002, 10:17 PM The CA18DET was rated at 130kw@6400rpm. That equates to about 174hp. It's quite a good motor. Some people will argue that its more sophisticated than the SR. I know that the head is stable at high rpm's (read doesn't need rocker arm stoppers,other advantages as well) and it has a nice stout iron block. No room. You have to yank the motor for anything. I wouldn't even think of putting that motor in a S chassis. Getting the thing to handle good would be a nightmare.
