You may be thinking of the RB20DET. Sweet motor. Unstable hybrids installed one into an S13. Very custom....not a direct swap by any means.
Speaking of Unstable hybrids, their site seems to be down. Any thoughts on that?

If you're talking about the RB20 swap into a white s13, then that's my friend Heather's car. Kinda a long story... haven't talked to her in a while, not sure what's up.

That would be the CA18DET. It was factory in 88-90 Silvia's and 180SX. :D

The CA18DET was rated at 130kw@6400rpm. That equates to about 174hp. It's quite a good motor. Some people will argue that its more sophisticated than the SR. I know that the head is stable at high rpm's (read doesn't need rocker arm stoppers, other advantages as well) and it has a nice stout iron block. True it is related to the RB series of engines. :D

Have you ever tried working on a Z32? No room. You have to yank the motor for anything. I wouldn't even think of putting that motor in a S chassis. Getting the thing to handle good would be a nightmare. Too many other options out there IMO. Even the single cam is a hectic swap.
