On the passengers side CV joint, do I pry it out from the transaxle or from that middle bushing? There is a middle shaft that is green and I can't tell if I still pop it out from the tranny case or from this green piece. I need good instructions....please help---the car is in the air now and I need some assistance!!!

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking, but to get the passenger side axle out, you need to undo 3 bolts on the support bearing. The axle should come out of the tranny as one big piece.

So I take those 3 bolts off and then do what? Yank it out of the tranny? Should it come out of the tranny, or out of that bearing where the 3 bolts are? I am so pissed right now!!!

The "joint in the middle is the support bearing. There are three bolts that hold the support bearing bracket to the axle. If you remove these bolts than you can tap the support bearing (the peice attaced to the axle and it will rotate. Now you can take a hammer and tap the bracket that the bolts went into and it will slip out of the support bracket.
you will see that the whole shaft from the tranny all the way out comes off. You will be left with a bracket with a large hole in it that ataches to the engine block.
The axle is more tightly fit into the support bearing bracket than it is into the tranny so your best bet is to work there.

Most SR passenger side axles come out of that support bearing by hand, others are very tight in there and require Rocketman's method of removing it.

yeah just take those 3 bolts out, and the axle should come out a little if not the whole way and than what i did last time i did it was took a screw driver right where the axle goes into the tranny and pried it out just be careful to be ready for the axle to pop right out or it could fall on you and hit you in the head:cool: it should come right out though.

You need to try not to pry it at the transmission end because there is a thin stamped steel ring there that seals against the axle shaft seal on the tranny. If you pry there and bend that ring then you end up with a leaky seal on that axle if you plan on reusing it.

Well, I got both of the damn things out and am off to the hospital. I dropped the pry bar about 6" to my lip and broke it open. Good thing the hospital is about 1/2 mile away. It hurts like hell.
I am posting pics of the axles and then I am off.

I always undo the strut bolts, pull the axle out of the hub, undo the support bearing bolts, then it should easily pull out of the trans.

yeah i found that out. I just unbolted strut bolts and it was very easy. If i go to change it again i could probably change it in 20 min or so
