* Infraction/warning system. When banning is too much and a private message isn't enough. There is now a 3 strikes policy. Each warning is worth a point. After 3 strikes, you will be automatically banned for 30 days. Warnings can be viewed by anyone. If you have a warning, it will be visible to all on your user profile page. In addition, when you are warned a discussion thread is automatically created for all moderators to see. This will prevent abuse.
Do I get any credit for beta testing the new punitive system for you? ;)

That thirty day ban should strike fear in the hearts of the most recalcitrant, ornery, argumentitive, obnoxious, mule headed, combative bastards on the forums. Like me.

Brent, I'm nominating....~Knuckleduster~, Stratton, and myself. Could you please bring that up at the next moderator round table discussion? :eek2: ... .....

Nice work on the forum Matt, love the multi-quote thing.

Forgive me if I am not so sure on the new punitive measures.

Was this the same update that changed it so now you have to click account settings in order to access the user control panel?

I want to address that change and didn't know if I'd be better off with a new topic, but whatever, I'm rambling.

I think it's kinda redundant to have to click account settings to go to the user control panel, because everything that's in the drop down menu of the account settings, is also found in a side bar when you are in the user control panel. And I generally access the user control panel more often because I want to see if any of my subscribed threads have new posts. Generally, I change my account settings far less often than checking my subscribed threads, so that extra click seems pointless.

I'm wondering if anyone agrees with this.

If the mods wish, I can make a new thread, or one of them can, and they can delete this post or whatever.

But my point is, I liked it better when there was a "User Control Panel" where account settings currently sits.

Your post doesn't really make sense.

On one hand you say you don't like having to click twice to get to the main control panel screen but on the other you say you don't go there often because you check subscribed threads.

While I agree that the drop-down is redundant (it is by design), it also is one less screen to load when you're going somewhere. Account settings drop-down -> Subscribed threads is a lot quicker than clicking to the control panel, waiting for it to load, then clicking on subscribed threads and waiting for that to load.

There is no extra click when checking subscribed threads, you drop down the account settings menu and click on Subscribed Threads...

Clicking User control panel automatically displays all the subscribed threads I have, that have been recently updated, (I forgot to mention this in my first post. I'm mainly checking up on subscribed threads that have new posts).

When I point to Account Settings, I have to click to get the drop down menu. It doesn't drop down automatically, and to add insult to injury, I surf from a laptop, with a touch pad for added slowness.

But to clarify what I was trying to say earlier, it used to be just one click to see subscribed threads with new posts, now it's two.

I know I'm nitpicking here, but it just seems like the older way offered a smoother forum experience IMO, and I'm curious if anyone else feels that way.
