Happy New Year!

The last couple of days I've been hard at work on this forum update. We are now running the latest version of vBulletin. There have been significant changes "under the hood" but here are a few of the improvements you should be aware of:

* Quote multiple posts in your replies. You are now able to quote multiple people at one time when replying. In order to use this handy feature, simply click the multi-quote button in each post you want to quote. http://cache.sr20forum.com/images/SmoothBlack/buttons/multiquote_off.gif When you click the reply button, all the posts you selected will be quoted. Please note, this DOES NOT work with the quick reply.

* Infraction/warning system. When banning is too much and a private message isn't enough. There is now a 3 strikes policy. Each warning is worth a point. After 3 strikes, you will be automatically banned for 30 days. Warnings can be viewed by anyone. If you have a warning, it will be visible to all on your user profile page. In addition, when you are warned a discussion thread is automatically created for all moderators to see. This will prevent abuse.

**The moderation notification feature listed previously is not available. That was posted too soon.

A few other smaller changes have been made but things should generally behave the same. Please report any problems to me. Thank you for your support and have a great 2007!

Multi quote FTW. The few times I have used it on NASIC it has been awesome.

Sorry to be a downer Matt, but I don't think the new masthead is working.

Plus it makes everyone's stickers obsolete!:)

Sorry to be a downer Matt, but I don't think the new masthead is working. What were you expecting?

Edit: Typical designer response. I deal with your kind all the time.

I wasn't trying to be harsh...it's just that the new type treatment isn't better, more representative or more attractive.

It's just different.

At least let me take the same type treatment and polish it up a little. At the very least kern the thing.

I disagree. It might not be better, but it's certainly more representative. The fact that it says "Nissan SR20" now clearly states what this site is about. Before, it was just "SR20 resource". SR20? A Cirrus airplane? A Leica survey system? Being more attractive is subjective, and I think it's a small improvement. Tomato, tomatoe I suppose...

At least let me take the same type treatment and polish it up a little. At the very least kern the thing.Regrettably, I wasn't able to spend hours on the updated masthead and it was (more or less) a shift from Myriad Pro to Franklin Gothic with the addition of the key icon. The kerning is zero'd out but could be worse.

I appreciate the offer to play with the look (for real), but it's not a permanent change. I have a "real" redesign on the drawing board with a designer for later this year. :biggthump
