Is this a common thing in the SR20DE? I was looking at that side of my engine today and noticed a decent amount of buildup on the side of the engine and the pan. Although, it was more like tar and undercoating, but there was some oil. I couldn't see any oozing, but was curious if anyone has had problems with this seal?
If so, do they make underdrive pulleys for this car? Who makes them and how much?
Thanks!

I don't know if it's a common problem, but the main crank seal on my car had to be replaced a good while back. I don't recall the cost, as I let someone else do it. Clean you engine off and observe the leak before you suspect the main crank seal. It could just be drip from the oil filter catch, or the lower oil pan gasket could be leaky. I've had both of those happen to me, too.
Unorthodox Racing makes underdrive pullies for the SR20DE. A search would probably turn up a lot.

Could be leaky PS fluid oozing down or have you ever looked at where the filter is on this thing? There is a tiny drain hole for WHEN you spill oil out of it lol.

Yea--I saw where the filter was last weekend when I changed the oil. That has to be the dubest place to have placed a filter---what were they thinking? Obviously they weren't.
I am hoping you are right---that over the last 75,000 miles, the oil has just clipped down the side of the engine from the oil changes. We'll see----it's shiny clean now thanks to a bunch of simple green, some brushes/rags and about an hour and a half of my time.
Thanks,
