What exactly is the difference between the G20 and the JWT ECU's for the '96 200SX SE-R???

Redline on the G20 ECU is 7500rpm and is otherwise a stock ECU. The JWT ECU raises the redline to around 7750rpm, and has more aggressive fuel and timing maps for better throttle response and more power. Some of the more technical gurus should be able to chime in.

If you own a B14, get the JWT ECU if you have the money or don't mind spending the $595. If you don't get the G20 ECU.

thanks for the help, how much is a G20 ECU. The JWT sounds better, this is just to compare

Anywhere from like $70-$130. Kbslacker is selling his for $125 in the for sale forum right now.

The JWT is better, BUT also takes a nice chunk out of your wallet.

Just wondering...how hard is it to install an ECU? Has anyone around here done it? I'm sure someone has, but I have to ask! I'll be getting a JWT after I get most of my bolt ons, hopefully. Also, does it take them a long time to get the ecu delivered to you, or do you send them your ecu, what is the deal? Again, install difficulty?

Um, I think it's mostly a pretty easy install... you'll hardly get your hands dirty... the hard part would be getting to the ECU, since the space to work in isn't much. It's probably one of the easiest mods.

Hmm, well you shouldn't get dirty at all, you just remove the plastic panels and use a wrench.

does the G20 ecu give any kind of HP gain? How bout the JWT ecu?

I'm not looking to spend $500+ bucks AND send my stock unit back for something that doesn't give THAT much gain. I'd rather stick with something like the G20 that won't boggle me down when I redline.

no

yes, didn't you read the part above that said more aggressive fuel & timing

im eventually going to get the jwt ecu, hopefully i can find someone selling theirs with an s4 program, but i wouldnt buy a jwt ecu if i only have i/h/e/p

uh...No :p I just skimmed it...very fast but thanks

if i only have i/h/e/p

Ok...umm, I figure the "i" is for intake, "h" for header, "e" for exhaust but what the heck is the "p" for???

And I only have the "i" right now, "E" is next on my list and "h" will come afterwards...and now i'm gonna go sing the ABC song :D

"P" is for Unorthodox Racing Underdrive Pullies. C'mon, isn't that obvious? :D ;)

So what else are * going to get before * get an JWT ECU?? Or what else would * recommend that others should get before gettin a JWT ECU? And why wouldn't * get a JWT ECU if * had just i/h/e/p?

after i install the s4 cams that have been in my closet for 2 months, ill consider the ecu.
this ecu gives HP, but i dont think it will give much on a car regular bolt ons and stock cams
however, on an NA car with agressive cams, the ecu programmed for them, gives more better timing and more fuel, increasing hp, also the ecu will steady out the idle with lumpy cams

I don't know about you guys, but Rob Cadle seemed to have gotten pretty good gains by switching to a JWT ECU.

On my NX, it was a complete night-and-day difference from the moment I drove the car after installing my JWT ECU. I don't have my dyno charts scanned, but my car gained around 10whp and 6lb/ft of torque after installing the JWT POP and ECU (the car had a Borla muffler and 19deg advanced timing before that). Note: This was done on the same dyno, but one year apart, so I could have gained more or even less, though the weather conditions were almost the same.

G-Force makes an ECU for our cars. Check them out. No one seem the read the FAQ anymore?
