Well they just passed the streetracing law :( Now if you get caught racing they can take your license, jail time, and other things.

Damn this really sucks!!! Keep it safe guys and be a adult when those Civics throw revs at you. Just look at them and turn your head. I am one that loves street racing but I have alot to loose and don't want to find out if this is true about the law. It obviously is!!

I agree, let it go, no matter how tempted you get, think to yourself, is it worth going to jail just to show someone your car is faster?

At the risk of sounding like a stupid lil kid that just got there first car (which im not).. Im gonna be one of those guys on the news handcuffed saying i didn't think it would happen to me .. i just think im to slick or something but there is always a riced out civic around to draw the cops attention off the se-r that he probably can't catch anyway (not that i would run for to long) but then again it's pretty stupid to test my luck,, but there is a place about 20min from here we can race that cops don't go to because it's like farm land the owner of the land came out once but just asked us very nicely while holding a 12gauge to exit to the left of the hick truck: ... moral of the story se-rious92sentra is a damn stupid driver that thinks he's invincible and doesn't respect the law not one bit but i know it will kill me one day so please don't reply to this post about me being a stupid driver because as you can see i already know it.

Well there is apparently more to this law than just racing. Doesn't it mention parking lots also? Will this mean that we can't park hard anymore? Why can't we truly be JDM and jsut be able to chill under bridges with no recourse

I'm not sure what all is covered in the new law:( but I'm going to read up on it that way I will find out if there is anything left to do to have fun

I'm actually fine with this law being passed, in fact, I prefered that it would pass. Living in the gandy area sucks ass with all the morons (i'm sure some on this board are included in that, oh well) going to gas stations, blocking/slowing traffic for races, etc. Just go pay a few bucks and go to a drag strip and stop wasting others time and risking the safety of others..

the ONLY thing I don't like about the new law is that it includes exhibition of speed.. which is pretty open to an officers judgement..

THANK YOU DAVE..

I think it was on this forum that I mentioned that very thing. Half the problem with this is giving cops more responsibility and loop holes. Whne you leave something liek that for an officers judgement it becomes to broad. I am also sure that they did recognize by law the word Parking lot. I know many SCCA peeps are scared about that.

The law does mention parking lots but also mentions "without proper approval" or something close to that (don't have the law in front of me currently). SCCA gets approval from the propety owner to hold a sanctioned event, this is excluded from the law. Included in the law would be the Tampa DrIfT cLuB bOyZ* who would pick a random parking lot to slide around in..

* = name obviously made up.

I always say the consequences are too great. That is why I race legally. If you want to race legally, there is a autocross school and speed trial school on May 25 at Hialeah horse track. $40 bucks will get you in for registration. Sunday is an autocross and Monday is the speedtrial. Get there early if you want to run. 8am. I will be a spedtrial instructor.

its more than just property owner approval. There was a big discussion about it at some SCCA forum. There seems to be more to it. We need a lawyer to read it.

Are you people serious? Do you get high off beating Civic DX's in street races too? Give me a break, that's gotta be one of the most ignorant things I've ever read on this forum.

Andy R: Nice car, I've seen you and talked to you a bit at Moroso and Sebring, look forward to seeing the car again.. we're building a SE-R for SPU now...

Carlos: You really have to look at who they are targetting with this law. I would be sooooo shocked if they ever wasted their time busting up a SCCA autocross even if they had the legal right to do so. I don't think their target for this law are those that are not harming anyone and running in a safe, sanctioned and organized event.. the cops always have the option whether or not to bust someone for breaking a law and if you are respectful of them and don't give them shit, you must likely wont get a ticket.. hell I've gotten 1 ticket even (minus accident ticket) and I only got that one cause I lied about how long I lived at my current (well now previous) address. I'm always (except that one time.. doh) honest with cops when I get pulled over and except for this one ticket the worst I've gotten was a $5 court fee cause I didn't have my newest insurance card on me.. cops for the most part are really NOT bad guys and I speed by them quite a bit but try to keep reckless driving to a minimum and usually never have any problems.

I was Se-Rious!!! And who is racing Civic's?????? i don't attend street races the you may have pictured in your mind it's not a bunch of wild teens just tearing up the street.... And you sound like a lil punk kid that gets bullied around the school yard when you were talking about you "prefered that it would pass"......."Living in the gandy area sucks ass with all the morons (i'm sure some on this board are included in that, oh well) going to gas stations, blocking/slowing traffic for races, etc" Stop being a chump, you drive a Se-r mannnnnn Sound like those Civic DX's you were talking about have been picking on you..lemme know if you need some back-up

Dave-ROR

wow.. I couldn't have proven my point about you better than you did yourself.. thanks man!

For the record, I don't give a rats ass about the SE-R, it's a "nice" fwd car, but it's as fun to drive as the POS honda.. and Civics can "pick on me" all they want since everyone I personally know with a civic would kick the shit out of most SE-Rs on this forum. Oh and if you don't think people are morons for blocking gandy when a gas station is OBVIOUSLY full, that's your own issue.. and they are mostly punk ass kids.. I know.. I used to go.

Oh and btw Se-Rious92Sentra, I was not replying to you anyways.. I know you were just waiting for a reply after you told people not to reply but at least see that I quoted the person I WAS replying to. You can be a dumbass as much as you want, as long as it doesn't effect me or my friends/family I don't care.

sigh. Can you name enough SE-Rs in the Florida forum that are in the 11s, or even 12s to justify my "most se-rs" comment to be untrue? If so, I'll take it back. And if so I'll have you run some of the florida type-r's and see how you do. My point was more focused at his "you have a se-r man" comment, I hate when people get all happy about a certain car like it's the only car in existance, some honda owners do it and it's just as stupid/annoying. I've owned at LEAST one car from every japanese man. and like certain things about them and dislike certain things about them, none have been the "best car in the world" nor do I think you'll ever find a normal car that is. Also, I never said my POS honda was fast, never even tried to claim it. It's never been to a drag strip either so I don't even know what it would run, nor do I care. The car was built for a single purpose, and it wasn't drag racing, now it's going back to stock so I can sell it and get on to important things in life. Having never seen my car(s) what gives you the right to call it a piece of shit? I never called your car or anyone elses (except for my own car, which I can call my car a POS) a piece of shit.

Yeah I have dave's back here. Even though I have only met him once and can't even tell you one detail about him physically he is cool. What people do on Gandy is dumb, hell I am one of them(haven't been for a while) It has turned into the hip cool thing and it bothers me so. I hate seeing little punks with their moms camry on which they put a tip and a big ass 5 deck spoiler that can't even make it into a Mc Donalds drive thru with it going 80+ miles per hour. It bothers me *** I know they can't control the damn car and will probably kill me in the process of being a moron. I used to be a big street race supporter and will occasionaly do some red light racing and highway stuff, but to go streetracing as a part of my saturday night is shot. One to call it streetracing is shot because most of the time you either park at gandy with the night fisherman(very cool) or you go spot to spot wasting rather expensive 93 octane gas. You hardly race anyway because everyone is so busy talking shit that by the time they finish a cop comes. Why don't you take one saturday off from street racing and possibly get laid or go to a strip joint or somethin. Its like $15 to get in, spend about $20-$30 in $1 dollar bills and get your self a dance for $25 go home and relive the night under your sheets with a tube of KY and your bedroom door locked
