I just recently sold by oldskool civic with a zc motor for my current ride a 91 nissan sentra se-r. I dont know shit about this car except for that its hella fast stock. But like most guys i want more power!!!! I want to swap in the bluebird or the gti-r motor but dont know where to start. is it a dricet drop in? is there wireing shit that everybody hates to do or does everything wire up? where can i get one of these motors or the front clip and how much should it run by? if anybody could help hit it up

there are many sources for the motor. soshin has a shop in jersey and in cali, there's andreas miko in florida, jgy in virginia area?!?, and then there's the classifieds. they'll run you around $2000 and up, depending on the setup, for the engine and accessories. as for wiring, you'll have to talk to some of the turbo folks about that - never done an engine swap myself. one advice that i can offer to you is to not modify your car until you've figured out what you want out of it. for example, you wouldn't want to put an aftermarket 2.25" cat back on your N/A car and then have to swap it out for a 3" one once you go turbo. plan ahead, and plan accordingly - once you're ready to drop the parts in, i'm sure you'll get plenty of advice on this forum! good luck!

vey vey true about the planning ahead thing. You can get bluebird DET motors in Toronto and Montreal for about $1500 canadian, thats less than a grand US folks. If you wanted a bluebird and lived anywhere near here I'd say it's worht the drive. As far as the wiring, it is identical if you are putting a BB in a B13. You just need to change the computer, oh and a few little things, like take the TPS, O2 sensor and cooalnt temp sensor off the SR20DE and put it on the Bluebird. And you will needa stronger clutch, ES motor mounts etc. but we are very very lucky there is a swap this easy with so much power.

fastnx,
damn...$1500 canadian is crazy inexpensive. i'll have to keep that in mind. is it a particular shop? it would probably be worth a 8 hr trip to get it for that price! perhaps i should start planning ahead. btw, do you know if the place you're talking about has sr20ve motors? TIA!

the guy is on the list, his name is CanadianG. All of the sources of DET's up here seem to be crazy inexpensive, probably because the motors come in by boat to montreal which connects to the atlantic, so it's probably a shipping charge thing. I dont know about VE's, ask him
