So i call these guys again tryin to buy an intermediate gasket for one of their old headers.
Got these from PNWser, that part was painless. Now comes dealing w/ $teallin. The initial concern is here --->http://www.sr20deforum.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=18095

Me: Yeah i need to pick up a header gasket.
Sales Guy: We have one for $450ish.
Me: No i mean just the gasket i have the header.
S G: Oh you need a stock exhaust manifold one, just get it from Nissan.
Me: No i have one of your old Gen1or2 4-2-1 headers and i need the gasket in between the header 'manifold' to the downpipe.
S G: Do you have your old invoice number.
Me: No, i can give you the piping dimentions if that will help.
S G: Well i really need some record of you purchasing them from us. Even then i'll have to talk to my manager.

Oh jeez, these guys can't be that hard up for money. And even if they were, they could of sold a gasket. Shit i would have been willing to buy several, if they couldn't figure out exactly which one it was.
But really, can they find it that hard to build a little bit of good will w/ a potential customer. Their products ARE expensive, on they other hand, by the look of my headers the price could be justified. The markup they charge on other peoples stuff is pretty steep, you can allways buy it somewhere else then. I saved almost $100 gettin an HKS catback from NOPI. The service prolly will not be much better. Stillen is obviously not putting that money into customer service. YUK.
So i prolly need to fabricate either the gasket or a purchase history. Anybody ever bought one of these new? Wanna buy me a gasket, i'll pay a 100% markup.

Now people who have been good to werk with.
Greg V and Velvet from Mossy Nissan. Arlyn? from Strano (not always the cheapest but decent).
The best so far, Isidro from Highperformanceonline is da man. Great prices, great service.

I was just in that same situation you are in. When I called mossy he had me call stillen. (Greg is a great guy!) I talked to Glen at stillen and he sent me that same exact gasket you are looking for. For free! Even though I had never bought anything from them. Go read my post in the vendors section, you will see what I am talking about. I thought they were nice people. Is it just because I am a girl?

Try to get one from HotShot. It should be the same. I used a primary-secondary gasket from a '91-'96 NA 300ZX. You have to work with the holes, but it fits. Its less than $10 from the dealer.

Mine was $25 shipped from HS.

Just to be sure, that 300Z gasket has two openings? Sorta like the one i drew in that other thread. I just find it hard to visualize a dual pipe gasket on a v6. Unless its further downstream, under the dash, right in front of the cats or somethin. Another excuse to call Mossy.

I wouldn't put it past any guy. Honestly, it's another reason i like going w/ Mossy. I like talking to Velvet as well. =P
Hey, no frown face though. Guys get some things easier, we don't feel guilty bout it. Uh, you wouldn't mind talking to Glen again and gettin another one, would ya? Like i said mark it up 100% and sell it to me.

Holy crap. These vendors are really starting to get greedy. $25 for a gasket is insane. I'm using HS's CAI piping but no longer have their header. I'm taking off my HS licence plate frame and burning it like I did a Stillen hat a couple years ago. Thieving bastards.

For the record, I blew 2 of those gaskets on my Stillen Header. The last time I used Copper RTV to fix it.. The copper will hold up to the heat. It's lasted 3 years now.

Blew two of which? The HotS or the 300Z. Inquiring minds want to know.

The 300ZX gasket is metal. It will take a lot for it to fail. :D

I blew the Bottom of the Header to the Down pipe gasket. It was not made of metal.

Arlyn never answered my e-mails. She was extremely difficult to reach. Also, a credit took about two months for me to receive.
On the phone, however, when I did reach her, she was sweet and apologetic.
