Okay, this has finally gotten to me. I have a '93 NX2K and I just replaced all of the struts. I still have a rattle coming from the right rear when going over bumps. It sounds like something is loose. I had the car aligned after the suspension install and the shop didn't mention that anything was bad. Any ideas as to what this could be? Could it be the bushings?
Thanks,
Ben

Hello Ben,
Don't feel so bad, I have the same problem with my 92 NX! I thought it was a bad strut, but I just installed new AGX adjustable struts and I still have the problem.
The car has been hit in the right rear and had a cheap fix before I bought it. I was thinking that this was a reason that I had this "loose metal" rattling sound. I don't what this could be! It is most annoying when going over the slow bumps at the grocery store.

I got a 91 NX & that noise comes from the front pass side whenever i'm going down hill(most times) or sharp downhill turns. Took it to the dealer but they could'nt tell me what's wrong.New ST springs with KYB G2's

Yeah, i got the same problem. its like rattling noise whenever i go over bumps at slower speeds coming from the rear undercarriage of my 97 se-r. i got like no fricken i dea what it is and its pissing me th hell off
Not sure if this will help but when I installed my new suspension on my 99 se. I got a rattling noise similar to the one you are describing. The solution I use was to put a few washers between the rubber grommet and the shock bolt on the back of the car. I wouldn't try this on the front but It may work of the guys with the rattle in the back. I think it may be due to the compression of the rubber pieces over time.

could it be the way the springs sit on the shock or worn out spring insulators? Just an idea.

Check the spring, how it's seated on the perch. Rotate it until most of the spring is on the base of the perch. The actual threaded cylinder could be loose on the strut. I duct-taped the strut so that the threaded coil fit snug. Check the strut bearings, they wear out as well and cause rattling.
