I'm new to the forum, but i love classics. I'm trying to buy one right now, but this dealer wants $6750 for a red 94 with 80k miles. How much do you guys think it is worth?

I've already checked
KBB says $5200
edmunds says $4700

the car is just north of Pittsburgh, right down the road from my house.

I think he might be jacking up the price because it has some weird chrome rims on it, i personally would rather ride on stealies till i picked up some Rotas.

i wouldnt pay more than $3500. that car is almost 10 years old, although those are good miles. This is the worst sellers market for used cars in recent history. You can make out good if you play your cards right and be patient.

patience is key. my car was on the blocks for $3300 - 135K, '94 se-r with p/s header and exhaust, pop intake. some kid offered $2800 but couldn't come up with teh $$$. i offered $2500. didn't wait for the phone to ring, but he did evenutally call - SOLD! a buddy of mine got an even cleaner and lower mileage one from a guy/dealer in long island - $2200. again, just gotta be patient, unless you need a car now!

Give em $4700 and call it a day...if they want more...just find another one that is a private seller...there is more negotiation with a individual seller. Dealers will always rip you off.

is it a high port or a low port?
yah * just gotta wait for the right one but as these cars are finding their 3rd, 4th owners, they are ending up in the hands of enthusiasts who do not want to part with them!

:D The guy that I bought my 1991 from wanted $4500 for it and the car had only 77K . After talking to him for a while I told him that I only had about $2750 he tought about it for a couple of days but he eventually called me back. So about $3500 is fair price.

For that price you can get a newer 200SX SE-R. Thats waaaaaaaay too much for a 94 IMO. I'm looking to buy another, and I'm finding 95 and 96 SE-Rs for that price range!

thanks for all you suggestions, but it looks like the cars gone.

I took a trip down there today, couldn't find the red 94, but they did have a very nice 96 200sx se-r for $8k. A little more than i think i can afford. I think the only way i could swing it was if i talked him down to like 6500 + my trade in (probably worth $700).

thanks again everyone
