Im trying to replace my headers and i have the everything off but i can't get the headers to come off becuase of a metal pipe going into the top right of the headers. I unscrewed the thing holding the pipe in but i can't seem to pull the header off. What is that pipe thing. And how do i take the headers off without cutting the damn thing off!!!!

i had to unbolt it from the intake manifold, it then will give you alittle play.

That pipe thing it the EGR. Take the 2 bolts off from the other end (intake manifold) and that will give you some play, but you will still need to get it off from the header.

How the heck do u get at those bolts...i could only get at one but just enough to barely loosen it...the other one is another story. Is there a easy way to get at these?

Socket, extension and rachet. It can be done.

i just use alittle muscle to pull back that annoying ass pipe. and had a friend wiggle out the headers.

Taking the intake off makes it SO much easier.

I had the same problem.I could not get the EGR tube out,I just cut the tube off righ there at the manifold. But that was ok for me since I was installing the EGR block off kit anyways. If you can get away with taking it off where you live"emissions",then I would do that.

its probably just rusted in there i *** mine was.. i use some PB blaster and sprayed in around that area and waited a lil bit and then i came off ... just make sure you clean the area off when puttin back on... dont want no pb crap inside of your egr pipe
