Come on children. Arguing over nitrous and turbo is something that has been done since the beginning of time.

I found when I ran n20 I got so addicted to the pull that I was using it at every stop light in first gear(auto trans). But n20 does do something to your reliability. When I was using n20 it would jolt and torque the trans and motor when engaged. Broke a few wheel studs in the process. A turbo if you pedal it right it boost's smooth into the hp's and hwy driving you hardly see boost. So taking a turbo car and a n20 car across the country is a ridiculous comparison cause the n20 car would not be pushing 210hp. Ask anyone with a boosted car. They wouldn't think twice before taking their car across a few states. Checking your oil every 3 hours is worth 210hp.

You cant compare the price of having 210hp all the time to only when your wallet will allow you to refill the 35 dollar tank. If you want it everyday for when that 5.0 stang rolls up at the stop light then TURBO. If you want to make some numbers at the track then N20. But if you have it you'll spray no matter what...How can you let that 5.0 stang walk over a sr20? That would be sac religious!!!

I understand your point, but any forced induction method is bad when you abuse it. try launching a turbo car at every light... Its all about the driver. Now.. running a nitrous car accross the country is like running a n/a since its completely never on. Running a turbo car, you have oil, water, and air being run through your turbo system increasing the possibility of a break down. Wether in boost or not. I WILL race any mustank that pulls up or any other pos with the bottle. But the truth is, you only face those situations a few times a week at most. This thread wasnt to pursue dependability as much as it was to see how big of a performance improvement spray had vs turbo. Since i already had a turbo car, i wanted something more reliable (which is my opinion)

I just wanted to compare the butt-o-meter on a turbo car and on a sprayed car

I've had nos in 3 diff cars....but **** owned a turbo car...but i have rode in the turbo red 200 nismo had+ kaoteke turbo 13+ overheard ...other turbo members

so in my opinion..from what i have seen, felt, and experienced myself and other
members

If ur se-r is a second car...meaning u drive a different car to work every morning

then i would go turbo...*** it puts a big smile on ur face and confidence that u can

pull away from certain cars....but needs high maintence and when its down its

down.....turbo cars seem to break major shit...not little stuff when stomping the

gas....but if u have a daily driver like myself....then nos all the way

I've done it for years....it's fun but does lack the smile factor on every run.

but the fact u got to make sure that u have the bottle pressure up at the strinking moment...and u really cant leave the bottle in ur car in hot ass phoenix heat..so sometimes u got to pull that bottle out the trunk

I drive my turbo car to work cause I need that therapy before I go into a high stress environment. Something about hearing that hiss makes my daily drive enjoyable lol yeah pointless comment.

Oh and most "turbo systems" that we run were made to be dd's. Its when you want more than the stock hp I find people breaking stuff. I had more problems with my na ser than this one and it had less miles.

Whats your point

the point is they are both power adders

I go for turbo cars because you got the power under the hood whenever you want it with no refills, and if you want to run safe a good boost controller would be your best friend, when your just daily driving but if you really want to feel the boost a few turns or clicks of that boost controller and you will be a happy man.;)
(my opinion too, sorry if I disagree with some of you guys)

nitrous run all day will kill a motor faster than turbo run all day, both will outlast a built na motor making the same power run all day. the obvious win is turbo if you like driving anything with more than bolt on power.... or lack there of

Do what I did with my MR2. Build a stroker shortblock with forged pistons (thermal coated) and forged rods and forged crankshaft. Use ARP bolts and port and polish the head with Ferrea Valves and springs. Use HKS gears and cams and a full race turbo manifold with a GT35R SP. Have an Apexi boost controller and dont run 30psi just drving around town. It will be reliable as hell (I hope so with that kind of money) and will have 600whp when you push the little boost button on your controller.:biggthump Just because you have a turbo does not mean that you have to worry about your engine breaking or being less reliable. It all comes down to how much you put into the setup (in my case my engine will have cost $25,000) Yay for spending lots of money on cars. NismoFatty you should get S4s for your new setup. I will even come over with Plastikcaktus and help you put them in.:D

LOL.....I might take you up on that. I have done cams before on an sr20 (had to do head gasket as well) but its nice to have some help. I am saving up as we speak for some s4s first . :)

I say turbo is better. Like someone stated previously, you can have the boost down and turn it up when you need it. Big diff between 7lbs daily and 17lbs when that stang pulls up. Vs, no lbs daily, and then "boost" when you hit full throttle in second, that may or may not give you the same amount of power as turbo.

Dont worry about reliability with a T25, it is made for that motor and made to last thounsands of miles. You wont break down on the side of the road, its not as unreliable as you think. Ive been on road trips with my 441whp G20 without a hicup, same with a T25. I wouldnt hesitate to take it cross country either.

NOS is what it is. temporary.

I have driven both. My opinion you dont have to refill a turbo.

I like NOS, but it is expensive and has hassles of its own, like more or less NOS in each cyl on single fogger setups. Only works at WOT.

I ran my 200sx with a T28 no intercooler and stock exhaust on 10 psi. made 186whp, which is about what you get with a 50 shot. It was good and reliable for more than 85,000 miles when the engine got built and the turbo got upgraded. still got 28mpg on the way to vegas with my foot in it!

it was nice, quiet , and would hang with a WS-6 on the HWY still. if you run an exhaust you look at a few extra ponies. but reliable as all getout. i had the nismo/NX radiator. very nice DD. no wheel spin, no breaking stuff torque number just a little extra go that it needed and no intercooler to attract attention. it was very cheap and easy. ran a JWT ecu with 370cc inj. so they have that program for no IC., has a little less timing advance.

Well let me butt in hear and say that both nos and turbo...boosting can be good and can be bad it all depends on the person and how much smack they wanna talk j/k....but really its all on what you want and how you want the power to kick in....and with what pros and cons...so can we agree that they both could be dangerous and they both could be safe depending on how they are done. I personally like turbo...+ nos....hehehehehehe power +power equal more power. Hey bigtom.... I wanted to know how did that no intercooler setup look...I may try that out for a minute on my b13 just til I can get some more goodies...I have a fmic but don't have all the piping and will get my downpipe and exhaust ** I get ic piping so let me know how u ran that.

I like spray for its ease of install. Only took me 3 hours to do on my dodge ram, and it consistently runs low 13s high 12s at a flip of a button. When I am not using it, I dont have to worry about anything.
