Just wanted to get your guys opinions on this issue. I have a 200sx sr20det that I am selling because I have no time for anymore. I am gonna get another car that is na with a few bolt ons and later on down the road go with spray. I want na for now for its dependability and less headaches than turbo. Just wanted to know the difference in pull on a stock det vs de+n. I think the times in the 1/4 should be pretty close as well as the butt-o-meter. I just like the daily drivability of a n/a car vs turbo. Thanks for any input.... I am NOT comparing de+n to a built sr20det

IMO, if you are fine with the power delivery of your N/A car, then nitrous is fine - assuming your motor can handle it. Otherwise, it will become an expensive habit.

lol..yeah..true. I am not looking to use it all the time, just when i want to race. I just dont like the hassle of turbo. I just wanted to know what a 200sx with i/h/e with 80 shot would run compared to a det swapped stock bb car

Is boosting a DE a hassle?

its not a hassle... but your always worried about crap.. I just want out of the turbo game as long as I can hang somewhere in the low 14 high 13 second range. If not, then the turbo might be worth it.

I'm guessing a 200SX SE-R weighs in around 2500 lbs.. So, hitting high 13's with nitrous + bolt-ons should not be a problem whatsoever. With a 75 shot, you would produce roughly 225-235 BHP. I can easily see 101-104 MPH traps from this.

there was a guy with a orange se-r at firebird last year

he had i/h/e with a wetshot of 75 with "slicks" doing 14.7

considering i/h/e on the low end to the ground like 125 whp +75 wet = about 200 hp range to get into the 14's with our b14's

unless that guy sucks at drag racing

and filling the bottle is like 35 bucks a pop

haha that sucks i went 13.8 with a 40 wet shot on slicks

i made 216hp and 245ft/ibs on my 70 shot with i/h/e

now that's impressive!!!

13.8 on a wet 40!

sr20 motors like nitrous...it spits out good torque #'s

but VE is gona be the way to go coz

i wonder what the quarter mile times are gona be for a b14ve

justin runs 15.5 in his g20 here in az
so u figure 15.2 or less for our cars in az

if you cant pull a 14 second 1/4 mile in a VE, you better be in a g20.. I ran 14.6 in a b13 with i/h/e/pulleys/6puck and interior gutted and that was with a de

Damn did u use slicks? That's a good trap speed for a de. I ran a 14.7 with a massive boost leak and my friends b18c1 hatch ran a 15 flat the last time I went to the track

no..i used some big ass 15inch tires...i dont remember how wide but i ran them at 18psi... LOL... not good for the tires, but good for me... lets just say i had to replace tires cause i forgot to refill them after the race and i lost one on the way home.

kao, if your losing boost, the motor will not spool correctly or hit its power band.. from what i have seen in the past and heard, at only 7 psi, you should peg high 13s in a b13

Yea I ***. I haven't gone to speedworld since I fixed the leak and got my mbc. I'm running 12 psi now
