I just got a used stillen intake for my 200SX and it seemed a bit worn on certain spots :( , enough so that there are a few visisble gaps (very small but visible maybe like 1mm holes) . Nevertheless, is this unsafe to use as it will allow dirt into my engine? Or i shouldn't bother with it. I have attached a link to two pictures so you can take a look:

Is there any cheap ways I can fix this? Put some crazy glue over the hole or something like that?

Or should I just replace the filter? how much would just replacing this filter with a brand new one cost and which part # is it? I saw a part # printed on the rubber part of the filter but I couldn't match it with anything on K&N's website..... lastly does Apexi make any filters that would fit on the Stillen adapter plate thingie or are there any other intakes i can put on besides the K&N, or is the K&N the best, as I remember some review that said Apexi beat all the competition in terms of flow rate and filtering.... ?

If there aren't to many holes clean it real well then apply silicone window sealant to the suspect areas. Let cure and your done. If not I did a search and found this site. Check it and let us know if this price is for real. I think it was 47.00 bucks.

Here's a few links you might want to check out if you want to buy a new one.

K & N filters (http://www.martelbros.com/cgi-bin/store/ws400CS.cgi)

other filters (apexi, etc) (http://www.optauto.com/webstore/departments.asp?dept=107&last=1594)

I have a feeling that an APC filter would not perform as well a K&N. Afterall, APC is not really known for performance but rather appearance. IMO of course.

I think the only difference is 1 or 2 hp. not a big deal for the savings.

Use liquid gasket on the holes. it should not affect any of the performance. Get red if you want it to blend in! :)

I have done that many times.
