So, I'm out to get a shell for a little project. Yes, it is a Sentra.
A friend of mine was asking me what suspension I was going to use in it. I told him my stock NX2000 suspension (the Sentra's struts/springs are blown, and it's a GA16DE). He told me that his friend's Sentra SE-R with stock NX2k suspension is riding with about 3" wheel gap. When he asked his friend 'why', his friend told him that the NX springs are 1" longer.
Does anyone know anything about this? This doesn't make sense to me, because then all the lowering springs for Sentras would put the nose of the NX into the ground.

Alright, well I picked up the shell anyway because it's beautiful. Does anyone have any ideas about this?

I know that Hyperco' looks lower in the front of the NX's than the SE-r's...atleast to me. Maybe his friend put 'em springs backwards...:confused:

NX springs on a SE-R will be taller than just standard SE-R springs. I don't know why since I've never had the ambition to measure them side by side. I threw my NX's stock suspension on my SE-R when they traded, and I noticed the slight difference. For a temporary thing and/or beater, it will be just fine - just look slightly off to any SE-R enthusiast.

From the Suspension Thread:
* GA16DE Sentra E 112 101
* GA16DE Sentra XE, GXE 112 90
* SR20DE Sentra SE-R 123 112
You can clearly see that not all the springs are the same on a Sentra. They vary by model.
I would assert (pretty damn sure) that the spring rates are not the same in an NX2K either. :melonscratcher:
Like Luis said, the springs in one end of the NX2K are definitely a different length than the other end.

I knew I discussed this the other day.
Peace.

well, if shawn is correct (im sure) that all spring rates are differant i would assume the nx2k springs to be slightly stiffer because of all the glass they need to hold up. i also know E modle springs are stiffer because they didnt come with sway bars and thats how nissan decided to compensate for that.
