Well I was have been helping my buddy to try and start his new NX and it just won't fire.

I swapped out the starter from his 93 se-r and put it in and didn't change a thing. We checked what codes the ECU was throwing and we kept getting 2,1 which according to the manual is the ignition signal. We swapped over the power transistor (small clip next to coil, correct?) and still nothing. I then swapped over his old distributor because the one on the NX had a really loose shaft. Even after swapping that, nothing. The car would occasionally sound like it wanted to fire but it wouldn't. We are not getting spark to the coil. It has juice but when cranking nothing. I am just clueless on this. Anyone know what it could be?:confused:

Another weird thing I noticed was the gauge cluster. The fuel gauge worked whenever it chose I guess but since I started working on it, it would not work. At one point the fuel gauge started to work and read well over half a tank. Then after playing with the car it would not read the fuel anymore just fall down way past the E line.

Any ideas what it could be?

Im assuming the rotor is turning? was he driving it when it died? R U getting a signal 2 the Ignition Coil?:confused:

He bought the car with a blown motor. He got another running usdm sr20 and swapped it in. I guess his father decided to throw in some Schneider cams. They installed the cams before they even started the car which had me worried of them maybe not installing them properly. Anyways, when we check for juice to the coil we get a constant source of power on one and then on the other the manual said the light should flicker as we crank over the motor. The light doesn't flicker at all so it seems something is not right but as far as the wiring harness everything seems right.
