I just got an orange SE-R and am broke and unemployed. Looking to add some CHEAP performance mods. Please no turbos yet :) I've got some pictures of it stock at http://www.picturetrail.com/orangecar These are what the guy sent me before i bought it. Since then I've added some new speakers since the old ones came BLOWN! and i've got some Xenon lights on the way and i've put in the wheel lights and some windshield washer nozzle lights(red). The car is in pristine shape. I am looking to put in some Indiglo guages they got some SE-R marked ones for 29 bucks on ebay. Anyone put those in before? I hear its very difficult and i know people who have messed up the way the gauges operate and now they dont show the correct speed or tach as well as their fuel gauge doesnt read anymore. I'm looking at things like headers and air filters. Well i'm new to racing mods so any help would be good. BTW i'm a newbie to working on my own car as well but I plan on starting. Anyone in the Austin area wanna hang out at the illegal street races give me a buzz or instant message me on AOL. BTW almost got arrested last night. I parked backwards into a spot between a civic SI, a supra turbo, and 3 triplet CRXs driven by the triplet mexican brothers and talked to the guys for a while. Cops pulls out of nowwhere with his lights on and says ok everyone give me your IDs. I ran to my car started it and took off. One of the CRXs got away too. Came back half an hour later and eveyone was on the ground in handcuffs and there were 2 more cop cars. All the guys looked at me and i could tell they were thinking DAMN if i had just ran like a little bitch like Homi did. But they are cracking down in Austin. Its still nice though everyone on congress in their street racers peeling out with neon everywhere. If anyoen is in austin lets head down Saturday nights around 11 to Riverside and Congress. THATS WHERE ITS AT!!

First off, welcome to the board. You will learn a lot while you are here.

Second: what are wheel lights? And also, get rid of the washer nozzle lights :D

Third: Not a good idea to talk about "illegal street racing" on here.

so you have no money, and no job
and the first thing you bought were those flashing tire valve caps and winshield washer lights!?!
i suggest you take these off your car ASAP, before you find it on some rice website

you shouldve bought a maf adapter and filter for like 20 bucks, and a timing light to bump your timing
and for around $80 you can buy a 91 intake camshaft

welcome to the best forum on the web!!
yeah, good luck finding support for "riceboy" add-ons here. most of us are a little more performance oriented with a little bit of looky looky stuff. we do have a section for legitmate (LEGAL) races, but most don't care about the run-ins w/ local peace officers.
the timing mod is free along with a few others on SE-R.net (www.se-r.net). i suggest you read every inch of that site ** asking questions. or try doin' a search on the forum, then you if still can't find the answer, post away!!
yes both of the ebay items will work. yes puttin' on gauges is tricky for the inexperienced, but again se-r.net comes in handy. :)

Cool, I have seen these before, but was just curious if it was the valve caps. I saw a Benz that had neon tubing on the inside of the wheel, so I thought he was talking about those. :) Anyway, whatever they are, they need to go.

I really cant say much about him wanting indiglo gauges, because I too have them...but they are reverse indiglo ;)

first of all, the things your talking about dont add horsepower, so there for the lights and all that ricey shit dont add horse power to your car..so there not permance mods :D

your friend are probably honda kids so you need to unlearn and learn.. youve come to the right place..

first thing you need to do is get a JOB!!! and switch the auto tranny to manual.. after youve done that come back and talk performance..

ouch, the ol auto se-r, a sure recipe for slugishness............ i dont know though, those sprayer lights should make your car faster than a 5 spd, and with those wheel lights i heard you can beat vipers

Sup man, welcome to the board, we're a pretty good bunch of guys, ***** on here ever argue or anything, we may not see on each others level, but that is normal... I suggest by starting off with the classifieds on SE-R.net, or the buy section from here... I used to have those wheel lights, but i started to hate those real quick, and for the wiper nozzles, never had them, but still hate them.. I'm sure a few of us on here are into street racing and / or have done it once if not many a times, but dont post it on here, mods dont tolerate it.. I would say just keep an eye on the forums and join in with our chats and talk about the best parts for cars, my mods are in my signature, i've gotten them from here... You dont need all that much stuff to make your se-r fast and beautiful, most people on the car forums these days hate rice * excessive lights, ugly rims, big spoilers * Here is one of the prettiest 200sx's i've seen... Take care man, hope you like the forums..

p.s. I have the white faced guages that look pretty awesome @ nite, not the indiglos... I had to install them by myself, ***** around here would do it, i messed up my speedo first time, i had to go purchase another one, now they work fine.... If you do install them by yourself, carefully read the instructions, be sure to have you car started and in drive, but with the brake on when you put the speed o back on :D

Where can I get a MAF adapter and a timing light? Anyone got a place off the net I can order one? How hard is the timing light to put in? And that black SE-R is a looker. Is that yours Urbn?

you dont "put in" a timing light, you use it to check your ignition timing. Its not to hard. There are instructions at www.se-r.net

Naw man, that isn't my 200, it's a SE, not an SE-R.. The owner hangs out on b15sentra.net, his name is Suke...... Most of the stuff on the car are from japan from what i've been told by www.nis-knacks.com, but nonetheless a nice looking car.
