I have a Bluebird DET, and the water temp gauge is acting really weird. I am using the stock water temp gauge. When the car warms up, the needle goes up to normal, then I accelaerate and it goes down to zero, then it'll mess around in between as I drive. I did the DET swap about a month ago, and the water temp gauge has been working perfectly until the last couple days. I swapped over the sending units, as I'm supposed when doing to swap...anyone know what's going on?

My gauge does the same thing. I'm installing an Autometer water temp gauge.

Same shit here on my pulsar det. Used the stock se-r sensor/harness and was fine for about a week. Then i noticed the gauge would be reading normal then when i would accelorate hard the thing would bounce all ove the place.
I checked it out and the sensor connection was bad. Haven't replaced it yet, but this may be why my car is running like shit.

connectors go bad. espcialy if you mess with them as you do when doing the swap. the anti corosion stuff gets all messed up and it ends up rusting or such at the connectors. from the sounds of it id almsot bet a grounding problem when the engine moves it gets grounded out by having that bad connection. check the connector with a multimeter and move it around while doing that also

Same problem here... turned out to be that the little pin that holds the terminal on was loose. I removed it and installed an Autometer one..
