Had to pull my new auto tranny out to see why it was leaking so bad and can't figure out why since teh gasket seems to have been just fine. What I found was that this collar inside the oil pump housing has been scratched up by the sides of the torque converter. Think it'll be ok?

I pulled the cover off of my old tranny and was able to pull the oil pump housing apart. It looks like i have replace the entire cartridge deal in order to swap that one bearing pictured. It only took me a few minutes so I am going to go ahead and do it.

Alright so I attempted to replace the oil pump assembly and it seemed like everything went smoothly. It seems that the oil pump slides down to within 1/8" from being flush to the trans so I can bolt it on. I am not sure if maybe because the brake bank is taught that I just need to torque the bolts down. The other concern I have is that if I try to rotate the gears they won't budge... Anyone have any suggestions or know if this is normal?
