They were made in the U.S. and Japan. If it was made in the U.S., the v.i.n. starts with a 1. If made in Japan it starts with a J.

I don't know about the part house myth because Napa (as far as brakes) list rotors for SER and SER-Japnese made(meaning J-vin I will assume)

All SE-R's made in TN, all NXs made in Japan. Some 1.6 B13s made in TN, some in Japan.

How about for the block? How do you distinguish a USDM over a JDM engine?

All classic SE-Rs were made by a bunch of good ole' boys in Smyrna, TN. Yes, thats right, a bunch of us southerners slapped your car together. :D

scary thought sometimes. then again some of the little quality problems can easily be linked to that.

but no matter what anyone tells you, if its a b13 SE-R it was built in TN. NX2000's were built in Zama only. The 1.6 models of each can be built about anywhere just look at the VIN

All 3 of my babies were born about 10 miles from my house.

Its always nice to know that my car that can go 130 mph and protects me from dying was "SLAPPED" together by some back hill hicks. That just made me want to mod my car some more. YEAH!!!!!

According to tacoma nissan of washington classic's were made in japan and us. The japanese version were the early 91 year versions and some 92's. I guess to supplement until the tn plant was up to full production. The japanese versions do come with bigger brakes.

My wife's old '93 XE was made in Japan. My sister's '91 SE-R was made a few miles from here.

My old 1.6 was made in Japan. Man that car was built better than my current one. Matter of fact I looked around for a Japanese SE-R around here and couldn't find one!!
